I know it's early but...

Bradley is 2nd in offense at 75 pts/gm
but 10th in defense giving up 86 pts/gm

FT % 9th
FG% 8th
FG % defense 9th

#1 in blocked shots (thanks Nate!)

Omari Grier is 2nd in scoring at 33 pts/gm
Mike Shaw is 4th with 9 rebs/gm
K. Bell is #1 with 8 asst/gm
Nate leads in Blocks, Omari among the leaders in 3-pt shooting


The MVC is just 7-6 vs. DI opponents, and thus, early on, sits way, way down in conference RPI rankings -
the Missouri Valley is currently 32nd of 33 conferences with only the IVY League (3-8 overall vs. DI) below them
..this is supposed to be a very strong hear for the MVC if you read the pundits - because of all the teams that return starters...but I am not yet convinced.

RPI on November 19th is as useful as a specific weather forecast for Thanksgiving Day that is made on the 4th of July.

But hey Army is #3. They're looking good for a #1 seed in the Big Dance come March! But they better watch out for Gardner Webb, lurking down at #9, or Charleston Southern at #11.

The site I use shows the MVC at #22 anyway, and there are only 32 D-1 conferences, so not sure where the 33rd league is coming from. Of course, 2 MVC teams are tied for dead last in the RPI simply because they have yet to play a game against D-1 competition. That's also the reason your powerhouse UC-Davis is tied for dead last in the nation in RPI.

don't disagree - I know it's early....but like it or not the MVC does already have a couple bad losses.....

but would you say it is just as good on Nov. 19 to be 340 RPI as it is to be Top 20 RPI...
No - of course not - because to be 340 you have to lose to at least one or two BAD teams and maybe lose at home to bad team(s), and that is never good

To be 340 now, all you had to do was not play a game against a D-1 opponent yet. That's why Vanderbilt, among others, is tied for last in RPI.

..because they have not played a DI yet - but we have, and we lost to a bad one at home - anyone can see the difference - that they are at the bottom because they have not played and we are there because we lost a bad one
but I think it is about as long of a shot that we need to worry about our RPI than that we need now to expand the Ren-Col to 7000 - which was a really strange thing people were wondering a few months ago...
