Northern Iowa came back to tie the game 70-70, and it is now going to overtime. Great game!

FYI UNI knocked off their dopplegangers in overtime by one shot. I forget the score, but it went back and forth over the last several minutes and Stephen F Austin missed a layup in the last 5 seconds or so. Great game.

UNI won in overtime 79-77 but the star for Stephen F. Austin was a kid Bradley went hard after Demetrious Floyd...
who is a St. Louis kid from a Florida juco that visited Bradley back in August 2013 and got an offer but chose SFA instead

...Floyd finished in a losing cause with 20 pts...

It was a great game to watch. Two incredibly well coached teams with similar skilled players, though none who would be stars at the higher level majors.

The final score was 79-77 with UNI pulling it out in overtime-

Paul Jesperson, the transfer from Virginia, fits right into the UNI system, and is a perfect compliment for Tuttle, Mitchell, and their other players. He is unselfish, and yet can knock down shots when needed. Their freshman Wyatt Lohaus really impressed me. I think he could be starting for UNI before long. He was on the floor most of the 2nd half, and overtime, even though he was not a starter. He's the son of former NBA'er Brad Lohaus, and was very lightly recruited (I think UNI was the only offer he got), but is a skilled, intelligent, and tough guard.

Just imagine if Lohaus has a late growth spurt and ends up anywhere close to his father's height. He currently is about 6'1" or 6'2" while his dad was 7' or so. If young Lohaus has a growth spurt and finishes college at 6'8" he would almost be a Mike Dunleavy jr. clone

Wasn't Stephen F. Austin in the NCAA tournament last year?

Yes, they were the automatic qualifier from the Southland Conference. They went into the NCAA Tournament with a 31-2 record, and a 28 game winning streak. They knocked off VCU in the first round, but then lost to UCLA and finished the season 32-3.

Wonder if they fired their coach after his 32-3 season.

anyone notice any difference so far in college basketball's 2014-15 season???
I sure have - such an incredible percentage of what the media covers & reports on is Kentucky, Major Conferences, Duke, and all the news about the big boys....

Get used to it - any mention of midmajors - or even of quality matchups like Saint Louis/Indiana State, Wichita/Memphis, and SFA/UNI will be hard to find....
It's gonna get even worse as the smaller schools get pushed onto the back pages and ultimately eliminated for any meaningful participation or contention among the big schools. This factor alone is gonna hurt all the small schools like Bradley - so it is even more imperative that we get strong and remain strong and not fall to the levels of a Texas-Arlington...or heaven-forbid - an Augustana or Eureka...

Example - per google news search, you find this
                      # of mentions of Kentucky/Kansas game - 238,000
                      # of mentions of Wichita/Memphis - 43,400
                      # of mentions of UNI/SFA - 4,340

Anyone else already kinda sick of all the coverage Kentucky & Duke are getting?
