  • One odd play from last night

Remember the play fairly early in the game when a technical was assessed to Jermaine Morgan supposedly for "slapping the ball" in the hands of an inbounder?

Anyone know why this play then was followed by several minutes of discussion and watching a video replay?

I saw the play and believe it was because the inbounder actually held the ball over the end line and taunted Morgan who did push the ball away but only because it was over the line and being held inbounds...
nonetheless - the rule holds that a player cannot touch the ball while it's in the hands of the inbounder - but the refs did have to talk it over a bit - and at least one of them was arguing that it should just have been a no call or double technical.

One more thought - Nate Wells played only 8 minutes and yet had 4 pts, 3 rebs, and 4 blocked shots..
If Nate's stats were to be extrapolated out to 28-32 minutes of play, kinda what several other players had...
then he might have had 14-16 pts, 12 rebs, and 12-14 blocked shots..

I know he'll never get that much playing time because, IMO, it would be an admission by GF that the one holdover player is better than all his recruits - but it is an interesting thought!
