I did not have the stomach to listen to the post-game show tonight. But if Geno actually believes this, I am seriously concerned for his mental health.

RMU is in the Northeast conference, not exactly a great conference. By rule of the NCAA and NIT, if you win the regular season in the conference, you are guaranteed an NIT berth, if you win the conference tourney, you are in the NCAA. Bad or not compared to an MVC team, he is probably right.

I agree with some of what you are saying. But not this year. RMU is not a good team. Weak conference or not, they will not win their conference, or their Tournament. Book it.

One issue- This is what Dave reported and Geno said after the last game when Nate Wells came in and played some good minutes-

One personnel change will involve more time for 7-foot-1 center Nate Wells, who had four points, three rebounds and four blocked shots in just eight minutes.
???Nate will play some more,??? he said. ???He gave us some good interior minutes. The best thing he did was try to fly around defensively. The list of guys who played well is pretty short. Mike Shaw battled and showed some heart for being well below 100 percent. And Omari shot the ball well (33 points on 9-for-15 shooting).???

PEORIA — Bradley’s 86-75 opening night loss to Texas-Arlington didn’t look any better the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth times to Geno Ford on Saturday. For a game in which the Braves trail…

Well, Nate played 8 minutes against UTA, but instead of "play(ing) some more" as Geno promised, tonight Nate only played 6 minutes in the first half, and never got off the bench in the second half.
I am not suggesting he would have made a difference. But when a coach says a kid has earned the right "to play more", and the other inside players are not getting the job done again, and fouling out, IMO he owes it to that player to keep his word.

OHMMM. OHMMMM. OHMMMMM. Pins and needles. Needles and pins. Remain calm. All is well. Forget it. What the hell was that? Robert Morris is on the 5 worst teams that have EVER played in Peoria and we lose by 9? WT*! No explaining this one away, though I'm sure certain people will. I wanna believe Barnes and then Sutherland will make a difference but it's getting harder to see it. We did show a little bit of life in the 1st 14 minutes as we led 27-12 and then for some unknown reason we switched to a zone defense and 3 3's and 9 FT's later we're down 30-28 at the half. We ended up going over 8 minutes without a field goal. We never led in the 2nd half which might have been the worst half of basketball by 2 teams that I've seen in quite some time. PIT-TI-FUL. We should have beat this team by over 20 and we were on our way until Geno took his foot off the accelerator and gave them life. We are at Ground Zero. Whether it continues is anybodys guess. I have ZERO faith that anyone has the spaldings to take care of it.

Bigjimmy, I'm in total agreement we are PIT=TI-FUL But I can answer why we went to zone. All of you Nate lovers are not going to like the answer but, he was a big reason we went to zone and just facts. Don't get me wrong ,I'm not blaming this lose on Nate but he was the reason we went to zone and our 12 pt. lead evaporated like dry ice on a 90 degree day.We have so many issues to fix not sure it can be done with this staff and I'm really sorry to say it because I do like Geno but if getting TS and AB doesn't turn us around it's gonna be a very long year and unemployment could be in the picture for a lot of people. Let me make one more point. Yes I've been in Geno's corner and still stand by my feelings that JL should have been let go. Maybe just maybe we didn't get the right replacement.

In case you don't want to read the whole Dave Reynolds or Kirk Wessler columns - I will tell you exactly what they said in just a few words...and they went pretty easy on the whole disastrous program

                  Kirk Wessler:
Bradley actually played great and would have won but missed two defensive assignments late in the game,
which cost a couple made 3's. If we keep losing all the way to the end of the season, fans will want a coaching change.

                  Dave Reynolds:
Bradley played great for almost 15 minutes in the 1st half then a couple missed free throws were our undoing.

Kirk fans have wanted a coaching change a long time ago where have you been?

This is what Kirk wanted so badly 3 1/2 years ago. That is why he has to defend it so vigorously now. He now seems willing to attack and vilify the players, but is silent about what the real causes of the problems are.
And he is one of them.

Kirk once preached to Bradley fans that they should never settle for mediocrity, even though what he called mediocrity was one of the better programs in the MVC. But now he seems perfectly satisfied to settle for being one of the worst programs in Division I, with no way out.

                        Change

Calling Coach Mo! Calling Coach Mo! Bring back Mo for lets just say 550,000 save the Dept. a couple hundred grand and turn this thing around. I believe Mo could win with these kids. I guarantee you he would get them to play defense and give them a chance to win at the end of games. Mo teams never got blown out at home. Well I like to dream!!

Hire Jerrance Howard or Billy Wright for $225,000-$250,000. Both would jump at the chance. That is the only way to get the program turned around, and we wouldn't end up spending much more than we will be spending for the next several years to maintain this mess.

Mo would probably come back and fix this mess for what hes getting paid at Nebraska. Maybe a little more. 250 -260 would probably do it until the Geno contract ran out. If he did, then there would be a good coach in waiting in Billy Wright.
