  • Any games on WAOE?

Does anyone know if there will be any men's basketball games on WAOE this year? I went on their website and saw nothing about the braves. I try to make it to as many of the games as possible, but do not make it to all of them. I enjoy watching them on tv, even though Dave Snell and Chad Cline are great.

Don't know. There has not been any announcement yet. We'll have to wait to see if they will do something similar to the past 2 years.
Last year, the TV details were not announced until after Christmas. The games have been on WAOE the last 2 years, with Bradley adopting the broadcast of the opposing teams.
There are some games this season that are already scheduled for TV- check the schedule-

Also, there may be some kind of deal announced soon about getting more Bradley games streamed on ESPN3, or another ESPN site.

Thanks a lot. Yeah now I remember watching some games last year and getting the opposing team's announcers. Also, do you know if they are doing the Geno Ford show again this year?

Geno will be on Dan DiOrio's radio show on Mondays starting tomorrow. WMBD mornings. Not sure what time though.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Reminder: the Geno Ford radio show will be on WMBD AM1470 in a few minutes if anyone wants to hear what Geno has to say about the Augustana game, and the upcoming season.
It should start around 8:35 AM.

Here is a link to the audio stream

Here is a recap of the first Geno Ford Live show. He came on at 8:40 AM, and signed off exactly at 8:50 AM, for an on-air time of only 10 minutes. Geno was on the phone to Greg Batton and Dan Diorio, and not in the studio. It's difficult to get to any real meaningful information in just 10 minutes of on-air time, especially when the hosts interrupt to voice their own opinions and thoughts. Dan gave some of his observations of the Augustana game, and Greg also took time to tell about his son's first biddy basketball game.

Greg Batton started the discussion with Geno about the Augustana game by saying, "Augustana is a fantastic basketball team". Geno listed several other reasons why his team did not play well and lost-
-we have a lot of new guys who struggled
-after Bradley won the secret scrimmage "with an unnamed opponent", the players were overconfident
-we chose not to play any zone against Augustana, because we wanted our players to learn to play man-to-man
                  -the big men were complacent
-Mike Shaw did not tell the coaches he was in pain from his toe injury because he is tough and wanted to play

Then Geno pointed out that Syracuse, Ohio State, and Arizona have all lost exhibition games, so we shouldn't make too much of it.
He also pointed out that the San Antonio Spurs won the NBA Championship last season, and then went winless in their exhibitions this season.

Geno then spoke very briefly about the next game Friday against "UTA" (Texas-Arlington) saying, "their 3 guards are really, really good".

Finally, he said Mike Shaw is OK and will practice Wednesday, and probably play Friday.

I have no problem with any of those points. All are valid. The 1985 Bears went 0-4 in the preseason, I believe, and the 1984 Cubs were horrible in spring training.

Just like in previous shows. Too many commercials and Batton should let Dan do the questioning.

Friday is indeed a chance to quiet the critics and get the enthusiasm rolling - but let's not start it off with a bunch of "they're really a great team" stuff...

10 minutes? Really? I remember a time when Dick Versace would be on for an hour taking phone calls talking basketball. That is another part of the entire program that is falling down. They don't seem to have a clue on how to generate excitement and a fan following for the program. I believe in doing the little things that build up to make a total success. This is one of them.

The coach taking calls from fans died I think when people attacked Molinari endlessly. Same thing happened with Dick Jauron.
