yeah....some people seem to spin things to support an agenda...

.to say it was nowhere close to 4000 proves that

We will have to disagree on the attendance.....

I thought the CU game was fun actually....at least those of us in the crowd had a good time.....

The crowd was ridiculously small, not arguing that, but a photo taken during the heart of the game would have been more credible.

I was there. Those pictures are pretty accurate of the game as a whole. There were a few more people there at the peak but not many. At least not enough more to make a big deal of it. Attendance was p*** poor. There's no sugar coating it.

if the attendance looked like this on opening nite 2005 or 2006 or any time from 2007-2010, there would have been massive changes right then on the spot.....
but for some reason this declining attendance problem has been allowed to get so much worst than it has ever been since the airplane hangers were welded together in 1949. -
Attempts to hang this on someone who left 3-5 years ago are pretty lame - and we all know who & what is responsible...

But that game last Friday was opening nite - a game that's generally a bigger draw than other early season games -
now...........with student break, holidays, football playoffs, poor weather, and fans taking their trips during the holiday season, be prepared for even more historically bad crowds.
as someone said - sadly, it sure solves the parking and concession-line problems...doesn't seem like all that many people are too concerned about the empty seats - dontcha think someone should be concerned?

The picture from Da Coach was taken sometime after the 3:30 mark left in
the game. That is when I left the game with my son, who then went to sit with some friends. He was pictured sitting with those friends at the time of the picture,

so ....I guess if the argument can be made that these's only 3:30 left in Bradley's opening nite game, it's perfectly OK to have 80% of the arena seats vacant?
...does anyone else see how lame are some of the excuses people are making for how far we've fallen? Maybe move the games to ICC's gym or Manual's gym?

                  ..kidding, right?
Four years of bad basketball, blowout & embarrassing losses, Thursday nite exits, bad-revolving door recruiting, and dwindling crowds...

and you haven't seen all the laughable excuses? It's all JL's fault, it's Taylor Brown's fault, it's Walt Lemon's fault, the problem was way worse than anyone knew, it's gonna take several more years to rebuild, we had all the players playing out of position, we had injuries, we weren't prepared, they shot the lights out, Augustana was a really good team that would beat most DI's, sure the attendance was bad, but that picture was taken in the 2nd half, we had to re-seat the lower bowl & double ticket prices to get more revenue, then of course, the one they keep falling back on over & over - it's all JL's fault...etc...(not sure how JL can be responsible for the horrible performances of BU baseball, VB, women's BKB, and most other programs..)
If you want more silliness go read the excuses they are using for VB to be 1-25 - blaming the loss of players due to graduation and extremely tough scheduling!

There's been nothing but excuses - it isn't working...thing are going from bad to worse.

No one is even coming close to saying that.

                      • At least we haven't heard it's Bush's fault. Whether it was 2500, or 5000 it is still completely unacceptable. Everyone should agree with that and it's still a big problem either way.

                        • The Bradley Scout says we should all just relax, take a step back (presumably from the edge), and that Bradley basketball will be just fine...
of course that was before last Friday's game -

                          • It really doesn't matter when the picture was taken. The point is the attendance was terrible. We sit in the upper bowl and I have never seen so many empty seats in the lower bowl for an opening game. This program is in disarray and getting worse by the day. Anytime a team misses 12-15 bunnies against a team like that and then bring in a player for 8 minutes who finishes the game w/a better stat line then many of the starters says a lot about the program and the coaching staff.
I was willing to give GF the benefit of the doubt for 2 years but now there is no excuse because these are his players and he continues to prove he can't coach Defense and lacks a lot on offense.
I seen the people that sit beside us leave w/ 7 minutes left and they had never done that. They even said it was the first game they had ever left early and have had season tickets since before the team moved to the CC.
If things don't change they may be doing good to sell 4000 season tickets next year.

sadly it is getting worse - every game we play worse - that was a very beatable team who shot poorly (18-44), turned it over even a bunch more than we did (22 times), and literally gave us any open outside shot we wanted (played zone the whole time)
Only one of their starters made more than a single basket, and we really needed to stop only two of their guys - otherwise the entire rest of their team went 7-27....

We were playing at home, made more shots, we beat them in the paint, we beat them off turnovers, we beat them on 2nd chance points, we had more assists, less turnovers, more blocks, more size and yet we still lost - and were down by 11 with 6 minutes to go - having scored only 43 points in almost 34 minutes.
