Everything about this at every level feels like amateur hour. Halftime show - terrible; in game entertainment - terrible; coaching - terrible; players - terrible.

.. and with Bradley playing as badly as I have ever seen them play - you decide to take a shot at the very fans who have been telling you that this team is bad, cannot coach, and has recruited very poorly and we need an enormous house-cleaning from the top down..
Tonight - I think the statute of limitations has officially expired on any baloney argument that GF is the coach of the year
This is a very poorly coached team - and the AD who says otherwise is clueless.
"...considering 1992 was the last time the team lost an opener in Peoria."...

I guess the most astounding fact- is that I just read a few comments on another board which seem to suggest some fans are JUST NOW discovering that we have a problem
Any five guys from a street corner in Peoria could have probably played better as a team than this group did tonight...
Let's guess what excuses we will see from the media...
-they really were a good team
-we were rusty - haven't had enough time to practice
-the game really doesn't matter - it's way too early
-we will be much better when we get our players back
-we just had an off-game
-at least that guy who wrote the letter can't complain since Nate Wells played
Truth is - we have a coach who cannot coach defense or offense and an entire staff of assistants who never coached anywhere else until we hired them and they add nothing.
They are nice guys, but we're paying them a ton for nothing and I don't think the AD or admin has a clue yet..
I don't see a lot of hope...

Dave Snell has it 100% correct...
there was absolutely no defense played out there - UT-A could have and did score from anywhere they wanted to tonight...inside, outside...
no effort whatsoever to put a hand in their face or battle to stop them in the lane.
Geno's grandma and four of her canasta friends coulda put up 100 tonight against us

I used to post quite a bit on this site, but I have continued to follow the board and am still, as always, an avid fan and alumnus. But, I just have to say this is just horrible. While watching what has all too frequently been a poor video stream of the game, I swear I seen several dozen, if not hundreds of empty lower bowl seats by half time. That is absolutely unbelievable for a home opener.
I contacted the university several months ago to complain about the president, the AD, the finances, and the state of what is supposed to be our marquee and beloved team--men's basketball. I stopped donating 3 years ago, and have told BU that although I used to donate frequently, that I will not contribute again until the house, all the way from the top is cleaned. During my communications, I inventoried the issues that have been mentioned here, and other points of concern as well. I wish more folks would do similarly, and the Board of Trustees take responsibility and do what is obvious.
If miracles happen to improve all the issues BU has, I will gladly eat these words, but I think we have had enough empirical evidence at this point into an administration, athletic department, and basketball program :-(

BU vs Texas Arlington...
More of the same! The Bradley Basketball program is in the tank, the administration and Athletic Dept. is ruining our once great program and doing irreparable harm to our school. The BU trustees are abdicating their responsibility to oversee and protect Bradley. What's wrong with you guys. Shame on you!

I guarantee you that every communication received by the administration or AD is quickly pitched into the garbage, and ignored. Nothing will change until the Board gets off their cans and does something.

Hell, even the band sounded bad. I think they have a new drummer, because he is so far off the beat so often, they shouldn't let him sit down at the kit. And the inadequacy is only exasperated when the horns come in late and/or weakly. Just an embarrassing night for the university of Bradley. I think any coach in BU's history could do a better job with this group of players. They all have talent and athleticism. They don't all have awareness on either end, and that is 100% the result of coaching.
I hope beyond all hope that Sutherland comes in and becomes the best player of this decade so we can get to double digit wins this year. But I won't be holding my breath for it because I'm not suicidal.Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

Article from BUBraves.com-
Hot-Shooting UTA Downs Bradley, 86-75
PEORIA, Ill. - Omari Grier buried seven 3-pointers en route to a career-best 33 points, but UT Arlington overwhelmed host Bradley with a barrage of first-half 3-pointers to win Friday's opener, 86-75.
stats-
So far I haven't commented directly about tonight's game or the play of Bradley. So here goes- this was the worst performance I have ever seen by a Bradley basketball team on their home floor in the 47 years I have been watching Bradley basketball. The offense was terrible, the passing was embarrassingly bad, the effort was tepid, the defense was non-existent, and the shooting was woefully bad.
Even a superhero couldn't help Bradley tonight.
The final margin was 86-75, only 11 points, but that belies how far out of the game Bradley was literally from the start. UT-Arlington lead by 19 points at halftime, and Bradley never really challenged. UT-A lead by a whopping 24 points with under 5 minutes to go in the game, and only the fact that they emptied their bench with a few players who could barely play, while Bradley still had multiple starters in the game until the final buzzer was Bradley able to close it to the final margin of 11 points. Truly the most embarrassing game ever witnessed by Bradley fans in Peoria. Most of the 3000 or so actual fans at the game had gotten up and left long before the end, to spare themselves torture.
Texas Arlington may not be the worst team to beat a Bradley team at home, but they were missing 2 of their key players, both of who were starters last year, and had no business beating Bradley. But it was the awful performance by the home team that stands out, and this coaching staff needs to look long and hard at themselves, and stop blaming the players.
But in the end, this is pretty much exactly what I predicted 3 1/2 years ago that we would see when the administration decided to put their own personal stamp on the program and turn it into what we now see.

Does what passes for media in Peoria appear unwilling to help publically shame the those who need to be? I would think a full court press is in order involving leveraging key alumni and even some more aggressive aspects of social media and advertisements with key facts hammering home financial issues, etc., since the local media has really not even covered those issues.
I believe they will. Some heads will roll soon, but unfortunately it will be just for show, and they won't be the ones that need to go. But the BOT is starting to realize the damage that has been done. Mind you that most of the BOT are not people who follow Bradley basketball, but the red ink, and the increasing losses and dwindling attendance and donations speak volumes.
The media is a different story, IMO. They have secured themselves so firmly to the butt of JG, that there is no hope well see any integrity coming from them until it's too late.
