Well, after we have heard all the boasting about how Bradley recruited multiple Top 100 recruits, something unprecedented in their past, and all the over-the-top hype from the obsequious media, lets see how things went in their first game:
Rivals Top 100 Josh Cunningham- 0 points, 5 rebounds in 17 minutes
Juco Top 100 Jermaine Morgan- 0 points, 8 rebounds in 28 minutes
Top 25 recruit Mike Shaw- 4 points, 4 rebounds in 24 minutes
So if we are landing all this high-level talent, year after year, then what is the problem?
We were promised we would be competing for championships, we spent millions more on new coaches and doubling of recruiting budgets, and hundreds of millions on new facilities, and not for a chance to someday hope to win a game on a Thursday night in St. Louis. Maybe it's time for fans to stage a revolt. I know there aren't many fans left, but if more fans did what Bake did, maybe we'd get some action from our do-nothing AD or Board of Trustees.
There is no chance the people who brought Bradley down to this abysmal level can turn things around. They are not capable. I can't think of one example that suggests this administration knows how to build a successful athletics program, or hire a successful coach. The overall lack of success under this current administration is appalling, especially when you consider the massive amounts of increased money spent.
Bradley is at an all time low point, and losing fans faster than at any time in history. Maybe it's already too late, but any fan who cares about this program needs to write an email to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Douglas S. Stewart care of Bradley University, or send your season tickets back to Bradley or not renew again. The pressure will not come from the sycophant PJ Star sports editor this time.
