    Just my opinion.

It seems I recall that when the previous staff tried to be vague about Daniel Ruffins' sports hernia surgery (note that nearly all coaches are similarly vague about injuries to keep opponents from gaining an advantage), nonetheless, our media skewered the coach and called him a liar, and demanded full disclosure about such issues.

I think the questions now are because the redshirt was initially said to be only "to further develop his game and because of a crowded backcourt". The PJ Star report (see link in first post) did not even question that explanation, and did not even mention any issues about academics.

Then BU later released the Weekly Tipoff report yesterday that briefly included a cryptic statement about NCAA residency requirements, which was never explained, and I suspect nobody knew what it was referring to. And now we see that the latest PJ Star story does report NCAA eligibility issues. People just seem to think there is an inconsistency in the reporting.

Really? Never heard that before. And I've said before, I think we should be glad that the PJS saw their error and rectified it with this staff. The relationship with JL and the PJS was out of hand, probably to the fault of both sides to some degree.

Here's an example of a school that played juco kids when they did not have enough credits for eligibility...
the NCAA came down hard on them and gave a post-season ban & other penalties

            Here's another odd eligibility case....

NCAA has ruled that this kid, Temple's Jesse Morgan, has only one semester of eligibility remaining - thus if he plays now,
his clock runs out in mid-December and he's out of eligibility - and NCAA has refused to give him any more beyond that --

however - they have allowed the player to choose if he wants, which semester he'd like to play this season -
so, obviously - he chose the 2nd semester so he will play more games, the full conference schedule,
and be eligible for any and all post-season play.
PHILADELPHIA - Temple University guard Jesse Morgan, who entered the 2014-15 men's basketball season with one semester of eligibility after transferring from...

              The only reason given was:
Amerson... will sit out... because of a crowded backcourt....
What a difference a couple months can make - our backcourt has gone from crowded to paper-thin...
              in this morning's column-
              "Bradley backcourt paper-thin"
