  • Bradley scrimmage at UW-Milwaukee

Bradley traveled to Milwaukee this afternoon to prepare for their closed scrimmage Saturday afternoon with UW-Milwaukee.
The team is at the Milwaukee Bucks game against the Philadelphia 76ers

There have already been a bunch of these preseason closed scrimmages between D1 teams. Tomorrow, there are over 80 of them-

I have finally had a chance to get some limited information from an out-of town source about the Bradley-Milwaukee closed scrimmage last Saturday.
For the record, I was not there, and I am not able to vouch that this is !00% accurate, so please take it for what it's worth

From what I heard, the scrimmage was broken up into three 20 minute scrimmages, so there was actually 60 minutes of scrimmaging total (instead of a regulation game of 40 minutes). As per NCAA rules, no official scores or stats were kept, but both teams did keep their own stats and scores.
Tramique Sutherland did not play for Bradley, and I did not hear whether Kendahl Amerson played. The announcement that he would redshirt did not come until this past Monday afternoon, so possibly he did.
Milwaukee lost their top 2 scorers from last year to graduation, and they were missing one of their starters due to an injury.

I heard that Milwaukee won one of the three 20-minute sessions, and Bradley won the other two. Bradley outscored Milwaukee overall.
The best player for Bradley was Donte Thomas, who scored 18 points. He looked very good and is developing a good handle for the ball. He is a strong candidate for a starting spot this season. I'd expect to see him get a lot of playing time in tonight's exhibition game. That is the only stat my sources knew, the rest was based on observation.
Josh Cunningham had a good scrimmage, though he is not a consistent scorer yet. The other big men did not score much, but rebounded and defended well. The guards played well, but they struggled to score at times. Coach Ford felt it was a good experience for the team.
