So they are marketing the tickets to the students to sit in Section 9 for $1 per game?

I am all in favor of doing what can be done to get students interested in coming to the games. But how is that any different from past seasons, when students also sat in section 9, and got tickets for $1, plus free bus rides to the arena, and free drinks, snacks, tee shirts, etc? Despite that, most games, only a handful of students attended.

And that Scout article contains this statement:
Buzzard also said the Athletic Department has been fueled by the energy coming off of last season where record-setting student attendance was set.

The student attendance for the Wichita State game was great, but there was a time when it was like that every game!
Students had to wait in line earlier on the day of a game, get their student ID's punched, then they had to arrive early to cram into the student section at the very top of the Robertson Fieldhouse to watch the games.
It would be nice to see that kind of enthusiasm every game, not just when they think they'll get on ESPN.
