  • How good are these teams?

There are a couple of teams in the MVC who have not yet swayed me.....Drake, UNI and Evansville all sport good non-conference records, but are those records evidence that they are post-season worthy? Drake beat Iowa, but Iowa is not very good. Evansville is 8-4 with a convincing conference victory against Illinois State, but the Aces played a relatively weak non-conference schedule, and many of those wins were not convincing by any stretch. UNI, like Bradley, lost many of its starters from last year. Although the Panthers have a strong record and wins over Iowa State and Iowa, still are yet to get what I would say is a 'defining' victory (I wouldn't assume anyone was too surprised UNI beat Iowa or Iowa State).

UNI played well at U of Washington and we will have our hands full on Wednesday. Our interior depth could get seriously exploited.

UNI won at Bucknell. Though Bucknell stumbled to an 0-4 start (against a difficult schedule, but they had their chances in all 4 games), they are currently in a stretch of 10 games that includes 7 true road games, 2 neutral court games, and just one home game. That one home game was a loss to UNI.

Also during this stretch, they are 5-4, with a neutral court game against Central Arkansas (probable win) tomorrow.

The road wins were at Xavier, Yale, Cornell (better than many realize--they have been in nearly every game they've played), and George Mason.
