Bittersweet if Marshall leaves. Would improve our chances in the Valley, but I sure do like having the type of success he's brought to the MVC. I hope he stays.

I think Marshall finds himself at the crossroads. Does he want to be swimming with the sharks of the SEC, especially at THE football school, and be a little fish in the big ocean. Wichita has become the big fish in the small pond. As long as he is there Wichita is almost guaranteed to be playing in the NCAA tournament. No matter how good a coach he is there's no such guarantee at Alabama.

IMO, at this point, he's proven all he can prove at WSU and in the MVC. Now it is all about money, and he knows he make a lot more, win or lose, with a Big 12, Big Ten, or SEC school.

Fully agree but I have one thought on that.
Look at all the "great" young coaches that took that jump to the next level and failed and all of a sudden they were just another ordinary-or even below ordinary-coach.
It would be a tough call but at Marshall's age I would, probably, take the money and go try it. My ego would tell me to go for it.
Then again, If he stays he controls the town and there are many benefits to that also.

Wichita only has so many resources at its disposal to retain Marshall. If they were fortunate enough to keep him, I'm sure the fans would be expected to help pick up the tab. I would think season tickets would jump quite a bit as well as maintenance fees. I wonder how much fans would be willing to pay to keep him.

He's got 4 million reasons to leave. I can't imagine anyone turning down that type of money, and he'd be set for life if he succeeds or fails.

I didn't get to hear GM on Mike & Mike but (heard this second hand) that he really has his head on straight. He said when the season is over he will sit down w/ his staff and decide what they want to do. Would he listen to offers at that time? He said he would but it would have to be something that really intrigued him and his staff. He said the ultimate decision maker though is his wife. He said his agent says to him all the time is that he is satisfied right where he is at and doesn't have to make a move just to make more money. He said (if I heard it right) that happiness is where you're at right now.

The NCAA met with University of Tennessee yesterday to officially inform them of the findings from their investigation.

One interesting comment from that CBSSports article-

One thing working in Tyndall's favor: UT's administration wants to keep him...."Everyone is 100% behind him".
                                fire him this quickly.

So the findings must have been bad for them to
