  • Ticket Office -- is this typical

I received the postcard about the red/white scrimmage today -- 3 days after it happened!!! This motivated/reminded me to post/ask the following:

I'm curious about others' experiences -- I've been a season ticket holder for 20+ years -- it may go back to 1990 and before that I attended most games. I have attended every MVC Tourney since that time -- safe to say I am/was a long term fan.

I was constantly frustrated by asking for the ticket office to accomodate "an out of town" season ticket holder. The simplest of requests seemed impossible. For example, couldn't mail the tickets to me (this year they said they would for a price). Getting MVC tickets seemed difficult and when we went to the Sweet 16 in 2006, I gave up trying to get tickets from the ticket office and bought them onsite there.

For these and some other reasons (i.e. a trend of not very good basketball), I gave up the tickets this year.

My wife does have season tickets at another mvc team and it's a different story with their office. We get handwritten thank you's (not necessary) and good service (our contributions at both schools were similar).

I'm not a big contributor but kept up my maintenance every year. I'm curious if those of you in Peoria see a little better customer service from the Bradley ticket office.

I hope someone from BU can come on to the message board and address your concerns

That won't happen, nor should it. A university should not have a pseudo "press conference" with anonymous posters on a message board. Only bad things will come of that.

BnC - my suggestion was meant to be tongue in cheek as that's what has happened when someone might misstate the W-L record of the cross country team, they'd get corrected

I'm also an "out-of-towner" and received the River Jam postcard yesterday. For the last several years, all such notifications ... pre-game parties, etc. ... usually arrive a couple days after the events.

BnC, I'm not exactly anonymous as I always introduce myself when I have a conversation with the ticket office. For example, this year before I decided not to renew. And every time I talk to the office about mailing the tickets, getting MVC tourney ticks, etc I tell them who I am. Often, I just talk to the student workers there but if I have a concern I ask them to make a note to someone.

Just for the fun of it I went back to my checkbook -- since 2000, I think I've had checks of around $17,000 to Bradley - including matches. So not like some of you but not "nothing" either.

But I really wasn't looking for any reply from Bradley...I was just curious if my experience was the same as others who may be more local.

I'm still a Bradley fan but just not a fan of the ticket office or the current direction of the program. I hope they prove me wrong this year.

Mr. Bula, all I can say is, wow. People as generous as you are not common, and should be an extremely high priority to any D1 program, especially one whose finances and donations are in trouble. Nobody should ever get that kind of treatment, especially supportive fans like you. We used to get the royal treatment, and still should. At the very least you should deserve a personal call, regardless of what part of the country you live in.

                    BU-Bill,

Thanks and if you are serious (sometimes I can't tell sarcasm or not , I don't think I'm all that generous -- as that's just what the tickets cost per year and the maintenance that I had to pay to keep them plus a very little extra. Anyone who had 2-4 tickets, would have paid approximately the same if they kept up their maintenance.

I was a little surprised at what the ticket office student said I'd have to pay to get tickets on the side (6 sections courtside) down low -- it was a lot -- (I think $5000 over 3 years plus ticket price). So there must be plenty of people paying more than I.

I was 100% serious. No sarcasm. You are being modest. Maybe at one time Bradley could afford to push season ticket buyers aside, but that is far from the situation now. They sorely need to keep the loyal and generous fans like you that are still left. This isn't the Bradley I used to know.

Mine arrived Friday. There must be a lot of variability with the post office.
