Loyola star, Honorable Mention All MVC, and Freshman and Newcomer of the Year, sophomore Milton Doyle is out indefinitely with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. This kind of injury could significantly affect shooting or ball handling, and could affect the stability of the joint. Depending on severity, it could require surgery which might then take 3 months or longer to heal and many more months to get strong again. Even without surgery, it is a slow healing process that could take 8-12 weeks to return to a strong enough state to begin workouts and even longer to play again.

Worst case scenario - Milton Doyle could be lost for the season if the injury is severe - this is what knocked out Creighton's Nate Funk & Northwestern's Drew Crawford for more than a full season
Doyle already used his redshirt year when he transferred from Kansas....so if he misses this year, he'll be back next year as a junior.

Loyola head coach Porter Moser on Milton Doyle...
..he is gonna try to play this year despite the injury - that does make sense since he doesn't have a redshirt year - and if he can't make it thru the season then he can opt for surgery..
Unfortunately Moser seems to hint that contact in the shooting shoulder area will be painful & difficult for Doyle - yet wouldn't saying this make Doyle a target for hard, physical play?
