Too often I have been negative with my comments about BU basketball and specifically Madame President so I decided, while I reserve the right to point out when I believe things are going wrong, to highlight another area that I care about, in this case the men's and women's golf teams. For the 11th time in her career Junior Danielle Lemek won the MVC Women's Golfer of the Week. It comes on the heels of her individual win at the Cardinal Cup in Louisville, Kentucky where she shot rounds of 75-69-69 to win by four. This is her 7th individual win. The team finished 8th. The men played in the rain shortened Weibring Intercollegiate in Normal and finished 10 shots back in 6th. Senior Seth Trolia tied for 7th with Peoria Notre Dame grad and Illini Golf employee Jordan Fahel of ISU Red, who won their own tournament. The men next play in the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin on September 28-30. The women next play at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Missouri on September 29 & 30. I sometimes have blinders on when it comes to BU Basketball so because I work at Illini Golf and we've had quite a few BU golfers work for us over the years I decided to finally take up their cause.
