Just because the Board of Trustees screwed up at Bradley doesn't mean the Presidents at MVC member schools would screw up with hiring a new league commissioner. Standing pat is more of the same. A half empty arena in St. Louis next March for the championship game on CBS, without Wichita will be an embarrassment to the league.

And so again, what would fix that? I think adding one or two of the schools that are being considered is the best option. St. Louis University had no interest in joining the MVC, and there is not a single other school that would bring in a significant number of fans to the MVCT in St. Louis. Are there any schools the MVC could get that even draw more at home than Murray State or Valpo?

it would have helped them prevent many of the HORRIBLE fiascos....
Instead - Joanne Glasser chose to listen to reporters that are not Bradley fans and a few whiney people who have never given a dime to Bradley

Here is an interesting conference change that does not involve any teams joining or leaving. The Ohio Valley Conference has had 12 members for basketball since Belmont joined in 2012. And since then, they have been split into two 6 team divisions, the East and West-
Visit ESPN for the complete 2024-25 NCAAM season standings. Includes league, conference and division standings for regular season and playoffs.
However, for 2017-18 they plan to eliminate the East-West divisional setup, and go to a single 12 team conference. They also plan to change from a 16 team conference schedule, which the OVC has used since 2011, and expand to an 18 game conference schedule.-
The purpose of the change appears to be to reduce the number of non-conference games each team will have to try to schedule, and to provide each school with an additional D1 home game.

They are assuming that if they had to schedule 2 extra games, usually OVC teams end up playing very low RPI teams, non-D1 games, or playing buy games that guarantee getting beat. None of those options are really much better.
The old formula that the MVC exploited back in 2006 & 2007 to get multiple teams in the Top 50 RPI doesn't work any more, anyway. The NCAA, now dominated by the power conferences, have made sure of it by downplaying the RPI. So they are opting for extra conference games that at least guarantee an extra home game against a D1, draw higher attendance, and bring in better revenue.
