Each RPI site is convinced theyhave the formula correct, but Warren Nolan has been pretty accurate over the years.

Check his site out and see where he has Bradley

He has Bradley with an RPI of 24

This is the highest RPI in the MVC with
    SIU-27
    MSU-29
    WSU-37
    ISU-69
    Creighton-72
    UNI-83
    Evansville-86
    Drake-87
    InStU-108

I think I know why WNolan has Bradley 24 and JPalm has them 31.

WNolan on Bradley's schedule and results shows BU winning vs UIC and Florida A&M in Chicago, IL. That would mean he is calculating them as Neutral floor wins as opposed to Home wins. The multiplier for Neutral wins is 1.0; Home wins is a multiplier of .6 - so more value to winning on a Neutral floor.

Best to stick with JPalm at collegerpi.com.

      Teams +RPI #'s + records

      (2SIU 8-2
      (29)MSU 9-2
      (30)BU 8-3
      (35) WSU 8-2
      (6 ILL St. 7-4
      (75) Creighton 5-4
      (82) N. Iowa 8-2
      (84) Drake 8-2
      (86) EU 8-4
      (110)ISU 5-4

Looking at the rpi #'s and record for every team ,I would be dissapointed if fewer than 7 teams made the postseason from the MVC.

Also noticed on ALL the RPI services, that Bradley is the top team in the Valley regarding
the Strength of Scheduling! (SOS) All the rating services have BU's SOS within the Top 30 or so,
which is pretty impressive considering just a few weeks back there were people looking at the DePaul, Rutgers, and S. Miss games on BU's schedule and labelling the scheduling as weak!
I recall over on the ISU board some conversations about how their schedule was so much tougher than Bradley's.

        Now we see this:
        BU's SOS = 30
        ISU's SOS = 98

I thought several weeks ago that ISU's SOS wouldn't
hold up.Depaul in recent years has been better than St.
John's.Loyala is a better team than Cal State Northridge.Early
on teams on ISU's schedule played tough teams and lost to them and beat the easy teams on their schedules to get
inflated RPI's.Unfortunately early on Depaul and others didn't
perform up to the level that they are capable of.It is really
not that surprising that Big East and Big Ten teams RPI's
would rise as the season goes along while teams from the
Big West,etc.. would have their RPI's plummet. At this point
the only thing holding ISU's SOS up is the first two games
they played this year agianst SMU and Florida State.

PS: I'd like to send a shout out to Big MIke who I met at the
Thanksgiving tournament (TOC) this year.I'm the younger of the
          two guys you met.

              Welcome 14,
and feel free to add your own perspective on any Bradley topic.
This is indeed a great year in the Valley.
We thought last season that being ranked among the top 6 conferences in RPI was pretty impressive, but this year is even better. By season's end the Valley should be right there in the top 4 or 5 conferences.
And for BU, in a "rebuilding year", to be one of the highest rated teams in the Valley is pretty impressive.
Nobody (well, almost nobody) thought the Braves would come on strong last season and get an NCAA bid, gaining the Sweet Sixteen.
And likewise none but the most dedicated and knowledgable BU fan thought anything of this year's team's chances.
If BU can do the same this season proving the doubters wrong, then all Braves fans will have a great year.

Bradley's RPI dropped only from 30 to 34 following last night's loss.
Hopefully the fact that the Valley teams all have good RPIs will help even if BU absorbs some conference losses.

Despite the loss at UNI , Bradley's RPI and SOS are still surprisingly strong.

                  realtimerpi.com
has BU's RPI=32, and Strength of Schedule=17 (best in the Valley by far!)

                  Pomeroy has:
                  BU's RPI=34, SOS=24

                  Warren Nolan has BU's RPI=31

The MVC is much closer to being #2 in RPI than it is to dropping as notch to #4, and remains a strong #3 in all the RPI sites.
This may not change too much because all BU's conference opponents are now under 100 RPI, but the changes will come as some of the prior oppoents may begin losing to stronger conference foes, and that'll drop out RPI.

But here are some nice figures:

DePaul has won 4 in a row and 6 out of their last 7 heading into a soft opponent at home tonight (Northwestern State) then Big East play.
                  DePaul is now RPI=50!

UIC, although sitting at 7-8, is 2-0 in their conference, and may raise their RPI since they could still do well in their conference.

Florida A&M is RPI 211, but they have won 5 of their last 6, and they play PITT tomorrow, and win or lose should get their RPI under 200.

Rutgers had won 5 in a row, but lost to RPI=5 North Carolina last night, but it helped Rutgers' RPI jump from 220 up to 203.

Illinois is 12-2 and on a 5 game winning streak, RPI up to 31

Tennessee Tech helped their RPI despite a loss at Tennessee last night, since Tennessee's RPI is strong, and raised Tennessee Tech's RPI to 170.

Mich. State is 12-2 and has a 6 game winning streak with an RPI 35.

Wright State is the weakest BU non-conference opponent but helped a bit on Wednesday bu playing at LSU to raise their RPI close to 200. (205) They are surprisingly a .500 team outside of the loss at BU.

Iowa State is the one school that seems to not be helping of late.
They started out 6-0 but have gone 2-5 over the last 7 games, but once they get into conference play they have a chance to raise their RPI's if they can beat one of the higher ranked teams.

Loyola's RPI hangs at 42, they are 7-4 and their 4 losses are all to top 50 RPI teams (BU, Ohio State, St. Louis, Purdue)

Southern Miss goes to 9-2 (with those four wins over NAIA teams) but has their RPI up to 151.

and as long as all the MVC teams keep their RPI's under 100, then even some losses in the conference won't kill BU's chances of ending the season in the top 50 in RPI.
BUT the Braves have to win all the home games and steal a few on the road.
