The Bradley closed scrimmage will be against University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
It will probably be some time early in that first week of November.
We should hear soon the date and whether it will be in Peoria or Milwaukee....
well, even tho Bradley is unable to tell us when it is I think we can draw conclusions from this info via Bobby Parker's tweet
The season's first edition of Bradley Basketball Weekly Tipoff includes information about MVC Basketball Tipoff, Bradley Basketball Season-Ticket Pickup and the Season-Ticket Preview Open Practice
Is the scrimmage open to anyone or only season ticket holders? I did not renew my season tickets because I'm gone for 9 games but I went up Fri and bought tickets for all the games that we're home for. Bet that doesn't make me a season ticket holder does it?
Well I got my answer from BP'S weekly tips on another post. In it it says you must be a season ticket holder or have purchased the "3" pack package. Well I did neither . I only bought tickets for 5 in Nov. and 2 in Dec. so I guess that won't qualify. They sure have strange ways of doing things. One of these days I'll learn silly me.
That's too bad. I have made my opinion clear, so I won't repeat it, but I don't know why they wouldn't want as many people there as possible. Most of the season ticket holders I know don't even know about this event, so I would be surprised if there are more than a few hundred people there.
Those who know me know I never missed the Itoo meal or a Red White scrimmage but they continue to shoot themselves in the foot as far as I'm concerned. I've been very nice to the people who have called and asked me why I didn't renew my season ticket package the last two years. Explained we went South right after X-mas but next year I may expand on several of the things that have soured my opinion somewhat. Still want Geno and the Braves to succeed but may find a better place for my money.
They always do sell out their preseason scrimmage. People wait in line for hours to buy tickets, and it's the only preseason scrimmage I know of that there are people scalping tickets for.
Played golf today with several season ticket holders and asked them if they were going tomorrow night. Not a one of them knew anything about it. what a way to run a program I'm totally at a loss on what this administration is trying to do but I can tell you one thing it's doing and that is driving me to listen to my favorite broadcaster.
Could someone explain what are the duties of the marketing people and the Learfield people. It seems we have taken a step backward in promoting the basketball program. I know we have seen some attempts to find "successes" in the athletics in recent years, but they are few and far between, despite much higher salaries, higher recruiting budgets, and a big improvement in facilities. I know the Bradley people don't like to hear of the lack of success for the money spent, but it is pretty hard to deny.

Been trying to get that across to people on this board for a long time. When you finally don't like something, it finally hits home I guess.

Learfield would have nothing to do with promoting a practice open to the public
Is there anything you can see that has been benefited by Learfield?
Well we have already talked about the transition with Nelligan wasn't a good one
I think it will be much better this year and as time goes on. There have been some nice deals done for BU and I think more will follow, especially if we start winning
I think BU could have done a little better clarifying their role
I was just pointing out they don't have anything to do with ticket prices or getting messages out about scrimmages , games, etc
Being out of town, I am not that familiar with the workings of the BU administration. I think lefty was just stating his opinion which we on this board should appreciate along with appreciating your interest in BU basketball.
