Back to the title of the thread..... Auston Barnes suspended 3 games.
Barnes will sit out the Nov. 6 exhibition game versus Augustana, as well as the first two regular-season games Nov. 14 versus Texas-Arlington and Nov. 19 against Robert Morris.

I was referring more to things like this....

I applaud the Creighton press and fans for not making such a big deal about them the way such issues are handled with such sensationalism by the Peoria press and some fans.

When I see posts that repeat tired, old thoughts over and over again, I just skip over them and ignore them.

Again, I remain consistent. I think that is extremely good advice.

The wording of the suspension implies it's possible AB's suspension could be more than 3 games, probably depending on the outcome of his case. Let's hope this gets resolved at the Oct. 29 court hearing, the case doesn't drag into the season, and the suspension remains at 3 games.
The Robert Morris game, which AB will miss, concerns me much more now.

I think it would have if happened during the season??¦.there isn't any reason to rush a decision in the summer really??¦..as far as "signal to others"??¦.who would that be???¦??¦..

well - just as a simple standard that a violation would result in the penalty right away...Bradley didn't even make any official statement on this until eight weeks after the arrest - allowing Barnes to participate in every and all activities as any other player during those eight weeks.

This scenario hints that if Barnes was arrested on January 11, then would he have been allowed to fully play & practice with the team until March 3rd while the team was "gathering facts".

I would differentiate between a player "getting a ticket" (unless for DUI) vs. one getting arrested and placed in jail ...
recall that in Sept. 2009, Taylor Brown was arrested, placed in custody then posted bail for supposedly striking someone.
Instantaneously the coach made a statement that Brown would be punished - Brown also IMMEDIATELY issues a statement apologizing to the University and to the fans (all of this being reported in the very first report on the incident)! Then Brown was announced as suspended for the first two games of the season - including a very important game at BYU that we likely lost because of his absence.
(btw- it wasn't even a woman he hit and yet there were calls from people to dismiss TB) - he subsequently never had another arrest
