I was so stunned alls I could do was smile and laugh it off.
With about two minutes to go in the game he turned to me and told me to "shut the f*** up". Why I have NO idea. While I had seats tonite right behind the bench I stayed off his case as it would have been too easy to give him grief.
He really is a piece of work and I left the game feeling sad for him AND moreso his players. The guy called his own players CU*NTS and cussed so much he made a drunken sailor look tame. His mom sat behind us and I felt sad for her also.
Ken Kavanuagh thanked me after the game for keeping my cool. I apologized to him if I did anyhting to provoke the incident and he said flat out.....you did NOTHING wrong.
Look for a pjstar article tommorrow because Reynolds was their and witnessed this guys antics......
Its too bad because his players played well and gave BU a good game. He's got some serious issues and I worry that if he can't handle a game at BU with no students what will happen next.
he's been in shorter beer lines romar I'm sure.

We have access to first row lower bowl directly behind the visitors bench but I prefer my seat behind you. These seats, while cool on occasion, are not as viewer friendly as ours up by you.

Originally posted by ser_solaceInterestingly, I'm reading a book on Bob Knight now. I'm hard pressed to find anything I like. Knight's behavior and Eustachy's described in this post are things I just hate. I don't care how much you win. I just can't respect how they treat their players.
And I'm sorry to hear how that stroke of a coach was treating the Bradley fans last night! Cussing at your players is one thing, but inciting fans at a road game is uneqivically unacceptable, and downright foolhardy! How is he going to handle the fans at Memphis and UAB later this year?
What a tool this guy is!

I do not want any coach of my team to howler at every player who comes off the court...it is negative and will not work on most young player's! I think JL has learned this since his 1st year on the hilltop......say what you have to but give them a pat on the rear and say .......let's get-em next time or something positive to keep the player in the game! Screaming at everyone to me is not the best example and I really like the way the Braves staff are handling the player's......last night JL got the T' for sticking up for his player's with JC getting knocked down on the court by elbows to the throat and getting non-calls........but he said he will work on it over Christmas to keep it from happening again! I know I wouldn't trade JL for any other coach......I'm proud to have him leading the BRAVES!

As I stated GE I have respect for your players. They played well and hard. I am not naive...I understand college coaches can get a bit nasty and many have different styles but this was X rated like I have never witnessed before.
He kept complaining his players were playing "soft"..fine. But after he pulled one player he got right in his face and told him "your a CU*T....your pu$$y a$$ will not see the f***ing floor again. This went on for 2 minutes and was just ONE example.
And at games end when he understood it was over he turned to me a screamed "shut the fu*k" up. I didn't respond. Gameover...he shakes hands with the opposition then walks directly toward me as I was putting my coat on and says "you f****ing pu$$y walk down at the end of this hall and I'll kick you're a$$. It was so pathetic alls I could muster up was a laugh which seemed to inrage him all the more.
Anyone on this board will tell you our own AD will NOT allow borish behavior and what he calls rudness from out fans in that section. He has scolded and reprimanded students for comments and actions during games. He sat one asile next to me and supported my "non-action" and thanked me for keeping my cool.
As other fans have stated not a single insult was tossed his way about his past discretions. I choose not to throw stones as I am no where near perfect myself. What bothers me was/is not the adult language and x rated show but if that guy ever has a meltdown with the wrong fan his career will end as a coach.
I wish him well and would hope someone would seek help for him. I felt bad for his mom sitting directly behind him and for what she had to witness.
Dogs---
Just before we went to the game last night, I loaded and printed a BIG BLOW-UP of the famous picture of Larry Eustachy with a beer in his hand getting smooched by a couple of co-eds, at Iowa State.
I was going to stick it on a poster and make up some funny punch line, but..........
Nawww....I thought I really have too much class to do that and would try to be polite to the visiting coach.
But after seeing what I saw and hearing your story, I have to admit any semblance of respect I ever had for the man is gone.
What a loser.
Even if he goes on and wins 900 college games, he is still a loser. I wouldn't use those words and that attitude towards my most hated enemy, yet he uses it towards the very players he recruits.
Someone has to speak the truth, so I will.
Please, Dave Reynolds, you were there, please expose the guy's pitful persona with the next article you write.

DRU - you gave some extra tidbits to the story at another message board.
I am not saying you taunted.... but .... you weren't sitting with your hands under your arse.
I still stand by you in this incident.
So my suggestion:
BU needs to reserve the first few rows behind the opponents bench... they don't fill 'em, they are empty. (Maybe 3-5 rows, but not that many is needed for someone like SMiss but maybe more for ISU, so how many is tuff)
It isn't just for their fans... but it is also to keep our fans away from them. Not that we have bad fans... like in your case, the contact was made from them.

I was no doubt "involved" to say the least. My point was that NOTHING I said or yelled was directed at or about LE in a personal way...NOTHING. That is not my style..PERIOD. Never has been never will be. Glass houses at play here bigtime
My main focus was the Zebra's and our team. Like I stated with KK sitting 5 feet away anyone that knows him understands he wouldn't put up or allow borish and rude behavior. I treated LE like ANY opposing coach...his personal issues were on my mind and actually held me back a bit.
Had I been verbal abusive and out of line in any way shape or form I would have taken my medicine from LE and been the first to admit I had it coming. I wasn't "bothered" by what he did just perplexed he lost it and wonder how he will handle much tougher crowds and situations.
