It's being reported that the Bulls have given up on Carmelo, who appears to be headed back to the Knicks.

Instead, the Bulls are focusing on LA Lakers big man Pau Gasol and they are closing in on a free agent deal-

And one more example that NBA owners are crazy- The Dallas Mavericks signed Chandler Parsons, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet worth $46 million for 3 years. Reportedly, the Houston Rockets are willing to match that offer-

Plus this one- the Phoenix Suns have acquired Isaiah Thomas (not the former Piston, but the 5'9" point guard) in a sign-and-trade deal from the Kings after he signed a 4 year, $28 million contract.

Another rumor has Taj Gibson and draft picks to Knicks in 3-way sign and trade for Carmello

If they did that and signed Gasol, that would appear to put the Bulls way over the salary cap, something Reinsdorf has said he wouldn't do.

Another interesting twist in NBA free agency- Now Dwyane Wade, who opted out of his contract and is a free agent, realizes how bad Miami will be next season without LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and he is considering signing elsewhere, and apparently the Bulls are interested.

As a Bulls fan, I am not sure how much that would help the Bulls. Wade is well past his prime and has a bad knee.

Former Bull Luol Deng, who is now one of the top remaining free agents, is interested in the Miami Heat. The way things have played out, he will likely get a maximum contract from them or another team looking to stay competitive.

If Wade bails on Heat, why the &*&^%^%$# didn't Bosh take the Houston offer?

Does he seriously think he (Bosh) can lead Miami to a championship, or, even make the playoffs? If he didn't have any fun this past year as third banana on the Heat getting to the NBA finals, will have less fun as top banana on a team that is going no where next year.

As the only one of the big three remaining on the Heat, he'll get the focus of all the blame for the Heat stinking...

Take a couple mil less and play for a team with some talent Chris..

Of course, Bosh would have to play against teams with a lot more talent than those in the Eastern Conference if he went to Houston. Apparently didn't want to compete against the best....

The Miami Heat, trying to re-tool after losing LeBron james, signed Danny Granger, and Luol Deng. The deal for Deng was 2 years/$20 million. He turned down an offer from the Bulls last January for 3 years/$30 million, so free agency did not really help him much.

Danny Granger, who is coming off 2 injury-filled seasons in which he played in just 46 games over the last 2 seasons, signed a deal for a surprisingly low figure- about $4 million for 2 years-
