You need to get over that! Long time ago and people wonder why he left? Perfect example.

He left because I didn't approve of his not attending the playing of the National Athem? Don't think so.

He left because he didn't like his coach plus he wasn't a team player and was tampered with by another University!

That is 100% true. Bradley accommodated him with his disdain for the National Anthem. He was allowed to stay in the hallway under the stands until after the anthem was over, so that couldn't have actually been a reason for him leaving.

Does he still stand in the hallway of his pro games for the National Anthem?

Articles have said he either stays in the hall or looks away from the flag - but I think as an American he has the right to do so and that has never really bothered me.
And although I don't follow Danny that closely - if anything can be said as simple description of Danny Granger and his years since he has been in the NBA - it is that he has been a fine player and an exemplary citizen - given the arrests, drugs, violence, immorality, and antisocial aspects that permeate a lot of pro sports and notoriety....DG seems to have stayed above that and been a positive influence - LINK

To say someone has "disdain for the national anthem" because they choose to not get involved in the observance of it is saying a bit much. Personal choice, not disdain. I also think it is funny how quick we forget that players are making decisions at 18, 19 years old, yet as grown men some choose to criticize them as if anyone that young tends to make good decisions.

Really sorry I caused him to miss the bus for the road game. Any player would be disciplined for missing the bus, but DG thought he was above that. I said then and say again now, good riddance.

Keep in mind that many athletes who are "Witnesses" do not ALL share the same beliefs and are commonly seen honoring flags....
Venus & Serena Williams claim to be JW's and are the exact opposite when it comes to the flag

Ultimately his behavior is his own choice but there are factors that need to be understood as to why some Jehovah's Witnesses do what they do.
Danny comes from a culture and his family & closest friends share a cultish belief in their religion that if he shows allegiance to the flag, that it is a form of idolatry - honoring an inanimate item....

If he does things that are ruled inappropriate by the JW's he risks being dissociated or shunned by his family & closest friends

Thus - some religions exert such a powerful control that members dare not violate even the tiniest edict
I guess in the US we have the right to discuss and disagree with others' religions but as long as it is not harmful then many think this issue with the flag just isn't at the top of the list of things needing fixing.

And what happens within his religion when he pulls the race card because things don't go his way

this ploy appears in all walks of life but he can hardly claim racism is hurting his chances in the NBA!

Just another reason to root against Miami.

Heck, I shunned DG when he bailed out on BU.

LeBum is going to Cleveland, cause Cleveland Rocks!
Heat are too old, old, old.

Unfortunately, LeBum's best choice should have been Phx with two great PG's, and open style of play, and plenty of cap space/budget to pay LeBum the highest salary on the team and grab anyone else he would like that's available. Plus, Suns have another 3 x 1st Rd draft picks in 2015 to help maneuver for more talent.

Phx is Miami without the humidity. Lots of high end spots in nearby Scottsdale to hang out with the rich and famous. Twitter and Facebook work here just as well as everywhere else. Fox Sports has TV rights and would make sure LeBum is seen everywhere in the US.
