Five NBA Summer League games were played today...

The Pacers lost 101-81 to the Nets - Indiana State's Jake Odum played 16 minutes, had 10 pts, 2 rebs, zero asst.
Jackie Carmichael, also playing for the Pistons, went 0-4 & 3 turnovers in 22 minutes

Nerlens Noel made his debut with the 76ers and did well - 19 pts, 2 rebs, 4 steals
Aaron Craft - who has been so highly touted by some as a sure thing in the NBA - had an awful game for the 76ers, just 2 pts/1 asst

Scottie Wilbekin - likewise - playing for the Griz - scoreless
Mitch McGary playing for the thunder looked OK - 8 pts/3 rebs in 21 min coming off back surgery

Mitch McGary might just be a steal in this year's draft...
he went for 18 pts/13 rebs/2 blk in OKC's win over the Nets

Jake Odum had just 2 pts, zero asst, zero rebs for the Pacers - Jackie Carmichael 4 pts/4 reb

That's great news for Chris. Here is confirmation- he is listed on the Jazz' 2014 summer league roster, and he will wear #66-

He played with the Utah Jazz on their summer league team in Orlando last summer (2013) and really impressed some of their people.
Here are some of his stats from last summer- he averaged 14.8 points per game, which was the best on the team! He shot 55% overall, and 50% from three.-

As I said in last night’s post, I don’t take summer league results seriously at all. Therefore, because I’m saving my Andris Biedrins post for next week, here are some non-serious…

                Good luck Chris!

in today's summer league games - Jake Odum & Jackie Carmichael combined for only 3 pts -
and one of the key video highlights on the NBA site was Shabazz Napier picking Jake Odum's pocket for a breakaway

Walt Lemon is the only healthy point guard on the Golden State summer roster...

Aaron Craft - projected to be a possible starter - has a bum knee and Nemanja Nedovic just rolled his ankle

"Warriors would be down to one healthy point guard: Walt Lemon."

Walt enters with 4 min left in 1st half and immediately makes an impressive play that the announcers just raved over...

he dribbled, drove and broke down the defense then dished off for a nice assist....

...then Walt hit a nice mid-range jumper but was waived off because of a turnover...

Walt seemed to get several nice drives for either shots or assists....
and I think a couple factors were at play ..

given that it's summer league there probably wasn't 100% effort on defense, but mainly Walt - FOR ONCE - was not the guy they'd be double teaming - he was able to show his excellent one-on-one & breakdown skills.

How I wish we could have had at least ONE other effective scorer last year to go with Walt - it could have been a totally different team. One other decent scorer like an Andrew Warren, Jeremy Crouch, or Theron Wilson -- or even a Remy Abell or a Corey Hawkins would have opened up the court for Walt to score 25 almost every night with his skills.

Walt didn't get as many minutes in his second game. In 7 and a half minutes, Walt had 4 points (1-4 from field, 2-3 FT), 2 rebounds, 0 assists, and 0 turnovers.
