I wasn't aware that a Peoria kid was on the ND National Champs soccer team
Vince Cicciarelli from Peoria ND-named 3rd team all ACC last year
ND is ranked #1 in the 2014 pre-season polls(maybe that's just standard to rank the defending champs #1)
ND tied St Louis 0-0 the other night in a rain shortened exhibition game

Loras is a very good DIII program. There are actually quite a few DIII programs that could very easily compete at the DI level. Many kids choose to go to these schools because DI schools cannot offer substantial scholarship money to most players (only 9.9 per team of 20 or so) and at DIII schools the off season commitment is lesser. Students at DIII schools can focus a bit more time in the off-season on school work and don't have the pressure to perform or transfer like the DI teams. I'm not trying to say the top DIII schools would have any chance vs a top DI team, but the lower portion of DI soccer are very comparable to, if not worse than, the top levels of DIII.
Also I had a good friend I grew up playing soccer with that had multiple DI offers and he chose to go to Loras instead.
