Yes, Kirk trying to shill for Bradley that this year's schedule is a strong schedule. It is not. Of course, anything looks good after these last 2 seasons with atrocious scheduling (Non-Conference SOS's of 339 and 302). But outside of Kansas State and Memphis, there is not a single team on the schedule close to being inside the Top 100 RPI teams, let alone the Top 50 that Kirk says the NCAA Tournament committee looks for on a team's resume'.
There is still the possibility for several 250-300+ RPI games including UIC (317 last year), Central Michigan (294 last year), plus the 2 home games in the Corpus Christi Tournament that are likely to be D1 bottom dwellers.

I also find this statement by our AD both self-contradictory and misguided. I do not know a single Bradley fan who wants to see a "winning program" achieved by scheduling numerous cupcakes and Division 3 opponents. And just how that has anything to do with becoming a "championship program" makes no sense.

I'm very aware of what people are saying about Eureka,' Cross says. 'But I'm also aware of what Eureka does and doesn't do to our RPI.
'We are trying to provide an environment and opportunity our fan base will appreciate. My perception of what the fan base wants is to see a winning, championship basketball program. I hope they trust the decisions being made are 100 percent, laser-focused on that being the goal.'

Posters are welcome to make their point. But instead, you chose to insult, demean, and attack other posters for their legitimate opinions. That won't be allowed here.

Just a few years ago, Bradley season tickets peaked at around 9,000. But obviously they are now roughly half that figure, and we will see record low attendance figures again this coming season. So if you think there are only 1 or 2 people who are not happy with all the losing, ticket price increases, terrible scheduling, and other changes, you are clearly out of touch.

we have not heard much for a couple weeks on the schedule....

          Here's how it sits currently...

          2014-15 Schedule - thus far
-two exhibitions likely - at least one at Ren-Col - ? West Virginia Wesleyan, Upper Iowa?
          -November 14 - UT-Arlington - part of a 2-for1 deal
-November 19 Robert Morris at Bradley 7PM - this one or the UT-A game likely at Ren-Col
-a couple other non-conference games perhaps as campus games/part of one of the tourneys, at least one & likely two will be at Ren-Col - not known if the others will be home or road
-Late November - Date in Corpus Christi are Nov. 28-29.
..poss. host Texas A&M-CC and poss. meet Texas A&M, TCU, Ole Miss, or North Texas in 4-game Corpus Christi Challenge
-December 2 - Central Michigan at Bradley - final game in a 2-for-1
          -December 6 @ Memphis
          -Dec. 9 @ Kansas State

-Dec. 22 vs. Arkansas-Little Rock or UW-Green Bay - game time will be 11:30pm Pacific/1:30pm Central if 3rd place game & 1:30pm Pacific/3:30pm Central if Championship
-Dec. 28 (Sunday) UIC at BU - this date not confirmed by BU but on the UIC schedule, time TBA - last game before conference games start.
          -18-game home-and-home MVC league schedule
-March 5-9, 2015 Missouri Valley Tournament in St. Louis

looks like the rest that has not yet been released will the the four games/opponents from that Corpus Christi Challenge tournament...
The pairings were not announced for last year's Corpus Christi Challenge until August 7th

Per Bobby Parker - the field is set but the pairings are officially pending (but we know some things) for the Corpus Christi Classic (used to be called Challenge)

Bradley (along with Mississippi State, Saint Louis, & TCU) is one of four "anchor" teams that will get two home games (Nov. 23 & Nov. 25) against two opponents from this pool of tournament (non-anchor) teams:
Mississippi Valley State, North Carolina A&T, Radford and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

then we go to Corpus Christi for two more games against other anchor teams..
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Bradley, Mississippi State, Saint Louis and TCU will serve as the anchor schools for the inaugural Corpus Christi Coastal Classic Nov. 28-29 at American Bank Center.

BUT - per the Mississippi State site - our first game in Corpus Christi will be vs. TCU then 2nd game - either Mississippi State or Saint Louis - LINK

So here's the schedule thus far-

            2014-15 Schedule -
-two exhibitions likely - at least one at Ren-Col - ? West Virginia Wesleyan, Upper Iowa?
            -November 14 - UT-Arlington - part of a 2-for1 deal
-November 19 Robert Morris at Bradley 7PM - this one or the UT-A game likely at Ren-Col
-November 23 - home game against Mississippi Valley State, North Carolina A&T, Radford or Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Part of Corpus Christi Challenge)
-November 25 - home game Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as part of Corpus Christi Challenge (matchup with Texas A&M-CC is per their web site - LINK)
-November 28 - TCU in Corpus Christi Classic
-November 29 - Ole Miss, or Saint Louis in Corpus Christi Classic
-December 2 - Central Michigan at Bradley - final game in a 2-for-1
            -December 6 @ Memphis
            -December 9 @ Kansas State
-December 18 Bradley hosts Eureka College (DIII) - gotta figure this will be one of the Ren-Col games
-December 21 vs. UC-Irvine in Las Vegas - game time set for 1:30pm (Pacific) and 3:30pm Central
-December 22 vs. Arkansas-Little Rock or UW-Green Bay - game time will be 11:30pm Pacific/1:30pm Central if 3rd place game & 1:30pm Pacific/3:30pm Central if Championship
-December 28 (Sunday) UIC at BU - this date not confirmed by BU but on the UIC schedule, time TBA - last game before conference games start.
            -18-game home-and-home MVC league schedule
-March 5-9, 2015 Missouri Valley Tournament in St. Louis

**** TCU is now in the BIG 12, Miss. State is SEC, then we have Arizona State-Pac-12 & Memphis now in American Athletic..
so we could potentially end up with FOUR power-conference/BCS opponents...
but even if not and we get SLU - this has turned out pretty good if we can win those games!!!

btw - FWIW, perhaps it's not finalized but West Virginia Wesleyan has posted their 2014-15 basketball schedule and no mention of playing here in an exhibition - LINK

...and speaking of West Virginia Wesleyan - here's a Sports Illustrated column on who would replace Mihcigan's head coach John Beilein if he stepped down...
and they list Pat Beilein as a possibility (although long-shot) - even though Pat has never been a D-I head coach and has only been a head coach briefly

T- you have Ole Miss listed as a potential opponent. Unfortunately, it is Mississippi State and not Mississippi that is at the Corpus Christi tourney. I think the Bulldogs' RPI last year was closer to 240.

                    • got it - maybe they'll have a better RPI this coming year...

                          • well we won't be playing Upper Iowa in an exhibition this year - their schedule is out and their only exhibition opponent is UNI

                            Comment

                            • I don't expect the official MVC schedule to be out for another month at least...
but -- revisiting that discussion we were having about the lack of Saturday games....

Remember - our non-conference schedule has a total of ZERO Saturday games...
..and I have just heard that only four Saturday dates are available (at the Civic Center) for Bradley to play MVC games - and only two of them involve Saturday night games....

Then scheduling issues will get even worse next year when another potential tenant who will promote the idea that they will sell out the arena - will battle for dates...
