    Bradleys 2014-2015 Schedule

t...Interesting data on Saturday attendance. I wonder how this compares to mid-week attendance in the same years?

Additionally, many people have other obligations, business meetings, etc on week nights.
Once again, our "Keystone Kops" athletic dept. does the wrong thing and further deteriorates game attendance and the BU Basketball program.

something else I suspect fans won't want to hear - that season ticket sales are down - ...there may be more games at Ren-Col than had previously thought...

That's sure to help recruiting. Someone has really ruined a good program. It all started, IMO, when they fired a coach after a 32-3 season.

well if there's something keeping us from getting Saturday night's at the Civic Center - I can't discern what it would be...
From the time the circus leaves in mid-October - there's not hardly a single Saturday booked for anything and advertised on the Civic Center site - all the way thru May 2015...
except for Jan. 24 "Monster Jam" but that's at 2PM - LINK - although it's not likely they'd get all the dirt & trucks out ..

But I have checked other sources as well - ticketmaster, Carver Arena ticket office, Rivermen office, etc...
surely they can't have all the Saturday's locked up...impossible....

Well, unfortunately, the rumors were true- the Civic Center may have another tenant- the Illini basketball team-

This tentative deal between Illinois and the Peoria Civic Center will be a major reason why we will see few, if any, Saturday home games in the early season next year, and be stuck with the less desirable dates to play our home games. Who would have thought another college almost 100 miles away from Peoria would get more attention from the Peoria Civic Center than Bradley?

Are there any Fallout deniers left who still want to deny the mounting fallout?
This program has fallen to levels never seen before in our lifetimes. There is no way the Civic Center would screw with Bradley like this in past years. We were their primary tenant just a few years ago, and they treated Bradley with a great deal more respect. Bradley consistently filled the stadium and had first choice of dates. Now we seem to be somewhere behind the Illini, the Rivermen, and a couple tractor pulls. This will turn into an excuse that Bradley will use to move all their home games to the campus arena, which I expect to happen in the next few years.

                      Thank you Chico.

The Kirk Wessler article has this quote from the Civic Center manager-

“They reached out to us to see what the opportunities are,” Peoria Civic Center general manager Jim Wetherington said Monday. “We’ve talked with them about available dates, but there’s nothing else to confirm or deny at this point.”

As usual, you can assume there is much more to this than anyone right now is willing to admit.

And you can't blame Mike Cross for trying to get something more out of this situation-
“Our expectation is, as the primary college basketball tenant at the Civic Center, that Bradley should have full preference and first choice on all dates and times,” Cross said.
“Second, I’d say this is a perfect opportunity for a Bradley-Illinois series, starting at Bradley. I’m serious. Any type of agreement should include a Bradley-Illinois series, and it should be home-and-home.”

But the rumor I am hearing are that Bradley may not able to get every date they want because of agreements the Civic Center already has going with Illinois. As a result, there is some bad blood flowing between the Civic Center people and BU.

being a tenant at the Civic Center is kinda like being Donald Sterling's wife -- you are not going to get much of his attention...

Likewise I hear the folks at Redbird Arena want no part of it....unless of course money starts talking...

Just to clarify all this Illini talk is for the 2015/16 season and not the upcoming 2014/15 season correct?

That appears to be correct. So far, there are no reports that it would affect this year's schedule.

I have not been following the progress of the renovation of the Assembly Hall (The State Farm Center). It was scheduled to occur in several phases. Here is an article from a couple months ago describing the renovation-

Apparently the Phase 4 of the renovation is the one that is expected to cause delays in the start of the 2015-16 season.
However, it would not be completely out of the question that Illinois may want to reserve dates this fall (early 2014-15 season) as well, as a contingency, just in case there are unexpected delays on Phase 2.
I am now hearing some rumors this may be the case and could be affecting Bradley's scheduling this fall. Can anyone confirm this?

in this morning's KW column going to bat for Bradley scheduling Eureka - doing the PR job again...

BUT -- it is totally unfair to liken BU courting Eureka to come play a home game with Indiana State catching Alaska-Anchorage and ISU getting Sonoma State at a tournament they had little control over opponents.

Then he likens it to playing Beloit back in the 50's, 60's, 70's.....is he completely unaware that Beloit was actually a NATIONAL POWER in basketball - not a cupcake in the 50's?

then.."I hope they trust the decisions being made..." - ahem -- you answer that after looking at how many people (actually how few people) are still there in the lower bowl..
