a long time fan of University of Arizona has pledged a LARGE gift to the University and the Athletic Department & personnel --
large enough that it is making people listen up....$17.68 million!!!
But it comes with a hitch....
it will go where intended ONLY if ...
The University of Arizona's successful head football coach (Rich Rodriguez) and head basketball coach (Sean Miller).......
"Each needs to stay at UA at least four years and cannot leave voluntarily before eight years."
...and where it will go is ...
- The Athletic Director, Greg Byrne, gets $3.5 million
- Rodridguez & Miller each get $6.19 million
The University's Board of Regents is voting on this agreement - but I can't imagine they'll turn it down...
Keep in mind each of those coaches already has a very lucrative long term contract PLUS "retention bonuses" in their contracts!
Basketball coach Sean Miller is already making well over $2.4 million and will climb to $2.7 mil in 2018.
