Illinois State signs a late 2014 recruit

Today, Wed. May 21, 2014, is the final day that 2014 Division I basketball recruits can sign a National Letter of Intent.

Illinois State received a signed NLI today from Mark Hall, a 6'3" combo guard from Eastern Wyoming College. He is originally from the Chicago area. Because he sat out one of his 2 years at the juco and played only one year (2013-14), he will have 3 years of eligibility at D1.
As a freshman at EWC, Hall averaged 9.3 ppg and shot 41.7% from three

his stats are kinda interesting...

in conference play while in juco he was 11-27 from the 3-pt arc, 40.7%
but inside the arc he was just 9-37, 24.3%

His overall stats show the same thing - he was only 23-69 (33%) from inside the arc, so I guess we know where he'll be shooting from....

Seems like a roll of the dice. The chance to develop into a bigger point guard and cause some matchup problems.

this one is strange...not only is he leaving very late with already over 500 kids on the transfer list...
the only mention of it that catches ISU people off guard is that Samuel appears on the roster at ULM and in their press before anyone at ISU knows a thing..

This is now the 14th player who was dismissed or left with eligibility remaining in the post-Jank/Muller era - plus they lost Cousin, Wilkins, Carmichael, and Brown to graduation - so it really is a revolving door.

Also - his leaving drops ISU's juco count from 7 to only 6...
