  • When Will Nate Wells Blossom?

See Nate still on BU projected roster for 2014-15...
BU has somewhat of a history of big man recruits that blossomed late in their careers.

JL saw something in Nate to burn up a scholarship, and it wasn't to ride the pine for 5 years..

Is he progressing? Does he have any upside left to play at the MVC level? Do the Braves have the coaching/training staff to get Nate to next level?

    Today's poll question:
'Will NW contribute significantly to BU in the MVC in his last two seasons at BU (ie be in BU's 8-9 player rotation?)

Does anyone know if NW is/will be in town working out over the summer? Has he, will he participate in a 'big man' camp for further development?

Someone else will have to look up the stats for me but I don't remember Sam Singh or Sticks doing anything before their last two seasons, which in Sam's case was like his eighth year in Peoria it seemed. I think he will definitely provide minutes next year, but nothing more than Sticks did, so I guess the answer to your question is no, but that won't mean he would be worthless next year.

edit --- oops I clicked next year instead of never not contributing. However I posted before the pole was visible and used the exact same people as you for reference, so bonus points there.

I am a Nate Wells fan, and if he stays on the team I believe he can be a difference maker. The young man is a high quality person and I feel fortunate we have him. He showed flashes. He's tall and broad, and if there isn't significant effort being put toward his development that to me is hard to imagine. Go Nate!

I thought Nate should have gotten minutes last year......he was better than Blake IMO! This year the post might be tougher to get PT with Morgan added to the mix!

I'd love to see Nate develop into a contributor, but I've seen almost nothing that gives me any reason to believe that is going to happen. I'd be shocked if he gets significant minutes next year, given that it looks like we have 2 good options at the 5 for the first time in a long time. I'm expecting he will graduate next year and will not return for his final year of eligibility.

Bingo, Contributing not gonna happen but if he does this year that could make this year very special.

Pollsters have not been real optimistic so far...

Hopefully Nate won't turn out to be a

              Finish strong Nate.
