I think this talk of NBA is a bit optimistic....if not downright unrealistic whether he's 22 or18 or 23 years old...but I like his desire so go for it!

and his comments about "I wouldn't have stayed at Bradley" almost surely hint he'd have followed Coach Les.
And I am also confused - the column seems to be saying the square on the backboard behind the rim extends to a height of 12 feet off the ground.

T ,I'm really confused, I've scoured your posts on this subject and I can not find where you answered my post as to how you came up with the FACT that WL would have followed JL to UCD. Not sure why you would subject yourself to that comment when no one else on this board got that from DR's story. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just waiting for your reasoning. The good thing is I'm a patient man.

wily - let me say it once again....as I did answer your question, perhaps you did not see it or you ignored it..

#1 - there was and still is talk by people who were there and who know that Walt was NOT 100% sure he wanted to stay & play for GF - other people even posted about it here...

I've heard from numerous people and even on this board that Lemon is looking into his options.

...and that at that time he was considering going elsewhere...and that as of May 5, 2011 the primary option had he left was UCD (see #2)
If he says otherwise now, then fine but that is not what I heard from several sources back in 2011.

#2 - if Walt was considering leaving as he now claims, then here's where I already answered you, and I asked you a question as well that you have not answered

...the rumors he was thinking of leaving after JL was fired...
...and where would he have gone?? At that time - Walt was an obscure freshman on a poor team averaging just 6 ppg and a horrible A/T Ratio.
Not likely a lot of schools would come calling.....

...remember - when Walt came to Bradley - he was a fine prospect, but he was virtually unknown, not being recruited much by anyone, had virtually zero other offers or options, had been absent from the AAU circuit and was not on any other recruiters' short list, and on top of that, he and his high school coach, AAU coach, and mentor (Loren Jackson) were strongly tied to Coach Les and this has all been discussed before.
So regardless of what's being said now, I prefer to believe what was said in 2011, that Walt was extremely appreciative of the fact Jim Les had recruited him and given him a chance at the DI level, and that he was considered by JL as worthy of substantial playing time even though he was an untested freshman. Had he gone to UCD then he would have also gotten tons of playing time, but he couldn't have possibkly had certainty of same at BU with Donivine, Dyricus, AND Remy all vying for playing time at the exact same position (combo guard) as Walt.
- and that had he left BU to transfer - very few DI schools in the nation would have come calling - so again, tell me where Walt would have gone?

T , I hate to ride a dead horse but please show me where it is printed that " very few schools would have come calling" That is nothing more than your attempt at an opinion. What is known is that Walt said in print if Jim stayed he would have left. How in the world does that make any sense to you that if Jim stayed he would have left, why would he than transfer to UCD? I can not back this up but I'll bet someone would have taken Walt.

maybe ... but all I said was "very few DI schools would come calling" and I believe I am right.... and I guess the best proof that it was not in his best interests to transfer is Walt's own decision and history since then. Remember also - had JL stayed - then so would have Sammy Maniscalco, Donivine, and Remy Abell along with Jake & DSE - and Walt's playing time as a sophomore might have been seriously in jeopardy.
I guess we'll never know now but things may have gone differently given the variables...There's never been nor is there now even one shred of evidence that WL didn't like JL or didn't want to play for him, but based only on that cryptic comment about transferring all of a sudden everyone claims it's proof WL wouldn't have played for him.

Also - read the very next line after Walt makes the comment about transferring - it is his agent confirming that the issue was not who was coach - it was the opportunity for playing time, which might have been a ton better had he gone to UCD!

Likewise ISU has had numerous players leave recently (Johnny Hill, Bryant Allen, Jordan Threloff, Kaza Keane, Nick Zeisloft, Trey Blue, Darius Clark..) very few of whom had a slew of top DI programs to choose from...

Don't see any of the BU players being D-1 players but just a Guess on my part. Can't answer regarding the ISU kids. Not familiar with them.

You missed Donivine Stewart. He left BU and is at a D1 school. He is not only playing, he started every game as a sophomore, lead his team in scoring, assists, and steals, and shot better and had more assists than any guard Bradley has had these last 3 years.
