What a weird article. Gotta say, I'm not sure overall if we wouldn't have been better off without Walt overall. Walt lied about his age to get girls, and then just decided to keep it going? His comments about Les were weird... Overall it just shows how immature Walt is. I wish he could have grown into a man at BU, and maybe he has some, but I can't say I'm going to remember him fondly... Many players on this years team I like a lot better.

The second non-public fact occurred following Lemon??™s freshman year. His playing time under then coach Jim Les was sporadic and Lemon was confused about his role.
???If he had stayed, I wouldn??™t have stayed at Bradley,??? Lemon said of his former coach. ???I would??™ve transferred.???
Would this have been fallout????
Or was it more fallout that he stayed????

I think this talk of NBA is a bit optimistic....if not downright unrealistic whether he's 22 or18 or 23 years old...but I like his desire so go for it!
and his comments about "I wouldn't have stayed at Bradley" almost surely hint he'd have followed Coach Les.
And I am also confused - the column seems to be saying the square on the backboard behind the rim extends to a height of 12 feet off the ground.

I'm curious how you get he would have followed Les out of this

I just find it funny that he says that now... because of the rumors he was thinking of leaving after JL was fired...
...and where would he have gone?? At that time - Walt was an obscure freshman on a poor team averaging just 6 ppg and a horrible A/T Ratio.
Not likely a lot of schools would come calling.
anyway .. the revelation of his age discrepancy brings up some interesting thoughts - as to what activities such as 21-and-older establishments he might have been in when he was just 20 - or even moreso the line about the ladies...

that doesn't explain why you think he would have followed Les??¦.I was curious how you derived that from the quote..
I think most people thought Walt was going to transfer if Les stayed so it's not a surprise..and lying about your age???¦??¦??¦.Walt has some issues for sure??¦.

people that lie for personal gain seem to be all about self which seemed the case in his playing and could account for the lack of leadership and team synergy

I do wish the best of luck for Walt. Once a Brave, always a Brave.
However, as much as I would like to see Walt make an NBA roster, realisticly that just is not going to happen. I would be shocked if he even gets a real NBA workout. He might be able to get into one of those agent-sponsored open workout sessions like they have in Las Vegas every year (mostly for the benefit of the European and international scouts), but I have read that a few NBA scouts do attend those.
One more curiosity I saw in Dave's article. He quotes the agent Walt signed with:
???Walt should do well in the tryouts because his kind of athleticism shows more in the small (six players) group,??? he said. ???Walt??™s athleticism, work ethic, high character, left-handedness and scoring ability all make him a fantastic prospect. The NBA teams know who he is. But they also think he??™s a year older.
What does his "left-handedness" have to do with giving Walt an advantage? The only 2 left handed NBA point guards I can think of are Mike Conley and Brandon Jennings. 10% of all people are left handed, yet well less than 10% of successful NBA point guards are lefties. So I would see it maybe as more of a disadvantage.

I wish him well in the future. I think he can play bb in Europe for a few years. I am looking forward for our team in the fall. After Geno signed our last recruit, this is most positive I have felt about Bradley basketball in the last few years.
