  • Class of 2016

Our coaches better be recruiting the class of 2016 pretty hard. If things stay the same and we don't have any roster turnover after next year (unlikely), then the following year Geno and staff will need to replace 9 seniors on the roster. That is crazy.

Here are the 9 players who will be scholarship juniors next year-
    Nate Wells
    Anthony Fields
    Omari Grier
    Jermaine Morgan
    Tramique Sutherland
    Kendahl Amerson
    Warren Jones
    Ka'Darryl Bell
    Mike Shaw

Bradley will have 1 senior (Barnes), 1 sophomore (Taylor), and 2 Freshmen (Donte Thomas & Josh Cunningham).

Before we get too worried it is important to realize that Nate Wells and Fields are redshirt Juniors next year and should be on track to graduate.

With 7-9 scholarships available it is a given that Cunningham and Thomas will have 2-4 juco transfer classmates join them in 2 years. No chance we use all available scholarships on only freshmen.

Yes this will put a recruiting strain on the year 2016. I think we may have two graduate early next year and it will be unusual if someone else does not leave.

Ford needed to get the strongest recruiting class he could this year. His Bradley future probably depends on the next two year's results. (I always thought he will get two more years regardless of the record.)

He appears to have assembled a recruiting class that should lift Bradley out of Thursday night this year and hopefully into the top half of the conference. The following year I would hope we are challenging for at least a top three finish. I think he did a great job of recruiting this spring filling the main Bradley needs. I am looking forward to next year.

Being a Bradley fan, a Cub fan, and a Bear fan, I am ready to have a team celebrate a successful season. It doesn't look like it will be the Cubs this year.
