  • 2 visiting this weekend- Warren Jones & Jermaine Morgan both commit

I am hearing some good news about this weekend's recruiting. We reported reported a few weeks ago that Jermaine Morgan, who was a Bradley recruit last fall and was recently released from his Letter of Intent, is on the BU campus visiting as well. Both have had great visits, and have enjoyed open gyms with our players. We could very likely have not one, but 2 new commits soon.

And, with a little luck, a third tomorrow. *crossing my fingers*

Jermaine Morgan is a big man who isn't a great scorer but only committed 23 personal fouls in 30 games!
he's also an aggressive rebounder and blocked 2 shots per game at juco.
He will have 3 years left and Bradley definitely should land this guy because here's who was
recruiting him at Colorado State in 2012 - LINK

Warren Jones is from right here in Illinois, and we're his best offer....
I think he definitely wants to seal the deal as he sees Bradley as a great opportunity among his options- so we should hear on him, too.

These two guys are among the best of what's available

For the record Charles Tucker was also tentatively scheduled to visit, but he did not. And if things play out, he may not visit at all.

I heard verbal confirmation this morning, but still no official release, even though both were going to sign their NLIs.

With Warren Jones and Jermaine Morgan, in addition to the previous signings of Kendahl Amerson and Tramique Sutherland, that makes 4 juco signings this year, and 6 in the last 2 seasons.

Putting a negative on a positive. I bet if Jim Les would had brought in 6 JUCOs in 2 seasons you would had been okay with it.

I never said anything negative, so don't take things so defensively. Like most fans, I just want to see the program get back to winning. If it takes jucos, OK.

If you want to hear something negative I will explicitly say something negative. This many jucos makes our class balance terrible and we could be woefully inexperienced in two years. Now for something positive. If this is what it takes to win, I'm all for it.

The fact is Geno has 2 years left and he doesn't have time to wait on a freshman class. He is doing what it takes to try and make progress and fast. Bradley needs to get attendance back up and get the program rolling now and thats what he is attempting to do. If we get JC we will be bringing in two solid freshman with one of them able to contribute right away. So far I like everything that has happened and will be going crazy if JC pulls out a BU hat tomorrow.

That is a lot of jucos, and a record proportion of players in the same class. Our junior class was already the largest class, by far, among our rostered players, even before signing 4 more jucos this year.
For those who may not have noticed- here is how our roster breaks down, with 1 scholarship left to give:

                              Freshmen- 1 -
                              Donte Thomas

                              Sophomores- 1 -
                              Xzavier Taylor

                              Juniors- 10 -
                              Ka'Darryl Bell
                              Anthony Fields
                              Mike Shaw
                              Omari Grier
                              Nate Wells
                              Tramique Sutherland
                              Kendahl Amerson
                              Warren Jones
                              Jermaine Morgan
                              Darrion Harris (non-scholarship)

                              Seniors- 1-
                              Auston Barnes
