Bradley financial situation

t...Your post under "Transfer Rates" was outstanding and, IMO, 100% accurate as it relates to BU finances.
What I am about to say next is admittedly hearsay...But, this hearsay comes from very reliable people who are also knowledgeable in the financial arena. The hearsay is that BU is currently experiencing some financial difficulty largely created by the things you pointed out in your post.
My concern is that if this is true, what are some of the next steps BU might take to alleviate the problem? For example: Fewer games at Carver arena? Reduced travel for athletic teams? Fewer coaches and assistants? Reduce the Mens BB schedule? Drop some sports to reduce costs? Reduce recruiting budgets? Etc.

Different schools have tried all of those things when they became necessary for survival. However, I would hope to think Bradley will not have to resort to any of those cost-saving measures, except maybe playing a few more "buy games", instead of paying out large amounts to the many cupcakes we have been playing here.

Instead of just accepting this fate and making adjustments to accommodate it, eventually the Board of Trustees will have to deal with the problems that have caused it. As I have accurately predicted these last couple years, this fallout will continue and next year will get worse.

I don't think they will raise ticket prices this year unless they want people just in the lower bowl. Than the ushers would have to turn their heads so the few in the upper bowl could move down. I bought 2 season tickets in the middle of the floor in the front row of the cheapest tickets because we go to Florida right after X-Mas. NEVER sat in them once, Never even went to them to see where they were at. Sat in my old seats every game but one and that one I sat one row behind my old seats. If they raise the prices this year there are some real problems on the hilltop and pirates might be sailing the ship.

I doubt if anything will affect Bradley men's basketball team directly. It has been Bradley's best way to keep its name public. Also it has been Bradley's biggest money sport in the past. The money payed for any new hires in some areas might be lower reduced when the position is ever filled in the future.

I would think it is more likely that some minor sports might be affected. Does that affect Bradley's Div 1 status?

If you read it - you can't help but get the idea he is already accepting of the idea that midmajors will all die...and be unable to compete with the big boys and that

There is some blame that goes to the current conflict within the NCAA itself. The 6 top "power conferences" do not want to share as much money with the rest of the Division 1 schools. It happened with the football money, but also is now happening with the hundreds of millions generated by the NCAA basketball tournament and the TV money. Their political weight will eventually force some kind of a divide between those top schools and everyone else. Maybe the midmajors will all be pushed down into Division II, but more likely, a new division will be formed, similar to when the BCS schools pulled away from Division I in football, and restructured the money distribution to hoard more for themselves.
Bradley is just preparing for the eventuality and seems to be resigned to the likelihood of dropping down.

Several schools like Butler, Creighton, Wichita, VCU, etc... have prepared themselves in a far different way.
They have gotten better, boosted attendance and their profiles, won consistently, and made themselves targets for better conference affiliation...
We were right there, neck & neck with Creighton and maybe even ahead of Wichita just 5-6 years ago....but where those schools have made good decisions and huge improvements & advances over the past 5-6 years - we have done just the opposite.

I heard a program along these lines some time back. It was a little different in that they were predicting the demise of all the small colleges that were not associated with 40 or 50 of the biggest universities.
