I could be wrong but I don't think the JS situation is the same as the SZ situation. I think SZ read the writing on the wall and something happened very different with JS. Just my opinion.

COACHES CAN ALSO BE "JANKED".

not as much of a pawn as some would have you believe
he has all the same right and ability to stay at Bradley as I did or my kids do, apply for and receive financial aid and scholarships that he might deserve and stay 'til he graduates...
the only thing being taken from him is his FREE athletic scholarship that was awarded based on the coach's perception of his ability to help the team.
Nothing about the offer, the scholarship, or the roster position was ever guaranteed beyond this spring -

Now DR & GF are saying Stefan Zecevic was the guy on the roster who was least ready to play at the D-I level - the guy with the least experienced, who came the least prepared.
But the same two people telling us this now (DR, GF) are the same two who were telling us just a few short months ago that Zecevic was the most likely of the new guys to get playing, time...the furthest along....the most prepared, and that his international experience and prep school experience made him one of the most talented newcomers...
so how could those assessments early in the season have been so wrong?
Irony --
Geno Ford said of our three freshman...
"As a group, I wouldn't trade these guys for any freshman class we've had or any freshman class in the league," BU coach Geno Ford said.
"The unique thing is all three have a chance to help from Day 1."
and if one is being asked to leave due to off-court issues, which some seem to believe, why is that now coming out?

I wish someone would tell us - What goes on during the recruiting process is almost never revealed but what has been revealed also includes....
-Auston Barnes was recruited as a "4" to be the backup for Pickett - but was then "discovered" after he got here to be better suited to play the "3"/
-Then we were told Anthony Fields had ACC-caliber point guard skills and that he was a difference-maker - only to be told a year to year-and-a-half later that his point guard skills are completely unsatisfactory and thus we made getting another PG (Tramique) absolutely the top priority.
-we were told Ka'Darryl Bell was brought in as our PG but then he also was later found to be better suited as an off-guard or combo guard and he has never really played PG since Walt stayed in the game 38-40 minutes.
-there also seems to be the same kind of misses on recruiting with Zecevic, Hodges, Shayok, Jalen, etc...you decide...it is a revolving door

Swopeshire & Zecevic transferring
Once again, it appears that a big part of our recruiting problem may be the apparent inability of our coaching staff to accurately assess and evaluate talent. BU is a Mid-Major and cannot compete for top level 4 & 5 star players. Because of this, it is imperative that we have the ability to accurately spot under the radar talent.
Once we bring them into the BU program, we then need to TEACH AND IMPROVE their skills. This also appears to be something that our staff doesn't do well as evidenced by the poor year-to-year improvement of BU players.

Maybe JS and SZ had the potential to be productive DI players and maybe they didn't have the drive and work ethic that would take them to that level. You do not get anywhere on potential you have to earn it and maybe these guy were not willing to work that hard. I am just throwing this out there! Not my opinion just a thought?
