If Kentucky does indeed win the national championship, then 3 out of 4 of The Valley teams playing in post season will have been knocked out by the eventual tourney champion.
WSU gave UK one of the best games in the NCAA tourney.
ISU-R (playing the entire tourney without their 2nd leading scorer) got beaten on the road in the CBI semi-finals by eventual champion Siena.
The MSU Bears, after leading almost the entire game, lost by a last second bucket by eventual CIT champ Murray State (who won by double digit games the rest of the way to the tourney title).
Only ISU-B failed to show up in the NIT. And at the and of the season when the bottom dropped out for The Trees (losers of 5 of their last 7 games), maybe most Valley fans could see that they were pretty much stone cold going into post season play. The 2 wins in their last 7 were over Loyola and a squeaker over SIU.
With almost all The Valley teams being loaded with talented sophomores and freshman this past season, it's looking like the MVC is headed for a real nice upswing in the future....VERY COOL
