What are you talking about......Bradley football is undefeated since 1970 .......and we still have a player in the NFL .....but if it helps you to shield the dismantleling of your team tonight ......go ahead with talk about everything under the sun besides your beat-down tonight!
Do you think Mr. Bland Eagle will venture back here after Bradley wallops his Golden Eagles and sends them running back to Mississippi with their tails between their legs?
What is with the inferiority complex some people have that compels them to come onto another team's fan bulletin board and talk trash like this guy?
Did any of those Kansas smack-talkers ever come back after they were beaten soundly last March?
My prediction Bradley 83 So. Miss. 37
They still haven't recovered from the defense Bradley laid on them last year. What did they score, 18 points the first half? 43 points total?
I checked their schedule last year, and they played 2 NAIA teams last year (William Carey and Spring Hill) in addition to Division 2 West Florida! Where do they find these schools?
They probably did think Bradley was just another NAIA school.
Inferiority complex? That's funny coming from a fan of one of the most obsolete institutions in America. Our school is bigger and better. Our football program is bigger and better. Our baseball program is bigger and better. And our basketball team will likely be bigger and better tonight.
Tell me again, what exactly would we feel inferior about?
BTW - Bradley barely beat us last year. We are 10x better this year. Get ready to be disappointed.
Is that why your school has to hire a northerner to coach them because they are so pathetic?
Here is why you have an inferiority complex. You are only the 3rd best Div I school in a state that has produced some of the worst basketball over the past decades. When was the last time any school from Mississippi won an NCAA game?
Here are the RPI for the Div 1 schools in Mississippi:
..........................2007...2006
Mississippi State......67.....113
Mississippi...............91.....156
Southern Mississippi.154....246
Still haven't seen an answer to my question. Is Bradley 1AA or Div 2?
Must be div 2, we made your schedule right? I would have thought you might have heard of Bradley while you were watching the Sweet 16 last year.
You must be mistaking me for someone that cares about basketball. I watch a real man's sport...football. How did your football team do this year?
They play Jan. 3rd in the Sugar Bowl. GMAC bowl huh? Didn't you guys lose to Tulsa this year? Did you guys even score a TD versus Tulsa this year?
By the way, I didn't even know C-USA even played football anymore. Thanks for the enlightenment.
LOL! I guess when your school is too crappy to have a football team, you can just jump on the bandwagon of anyone who's winning.
We are D1 in the most popular futbol in the world..... And we may very well be "podunk"...and if thats the case you guys should have NO problem whippin us....yee haw.
I'm just amazed the internet has reached Mississippi....whats next indoor plumbing
Actually, I admire Mr. Granny Eagle, since at least he is standing up for his school and team.
Not many other people did when Bradley played down in Hattiesburg last year.
That game was on TV here in Peoria (yes, Granny Eagle, we do have TV and 'lectricity in Peoria)
and I seem to recall the entire arena was ghostly empty, with the broadcaster's own voice echoing in the background off the far walls of the big empty arena.
And, yes, Bradley did play one of their worst games that night, missing a couple of the best players, and still beat down your Golden Eagles pretty handily.
I would have to agree when you admit your team was not very good last year. we have a couple high schools in Peoria that could have beaten you. Oooops, I forgot, you guys probably don't know what a high school is since most of your youngun's don't make it that far.
dogs---what happened to your avatar?
I woulda thought Granny Eagle would have really gotten a kick out of that little cartoon of the dog lapping out of the toilet.
It's probably been a while since he's seen a toilet. Maybe the last time he stopped at a Bob's Big Boy on the "innerstate".
BTW....Granny Eagle, get ready for a beatdown tonight!!! I also look forward to the butt-kickin the Ohio U Bobcats are gonna give to your "storied" football program
Um, no it's not. It's bigger, I'll give you that. But if being "bigger" was in any way tied to being "better," DeVry and the University of Phoenix would be the best our nation has to offer. And I have a hard time buying that.
Southern Miss is a 4th-tier school while BU is ranked 7th in the Midwest by US News. Yeah, it's... it's not even close.

Our football program is bigger and better.
That's not too difficult, considering we dropped football. You see, it's near impossible to turn a football profit unless you're in one of the 6 autobid BCS conferences (which neither of us are). And as long as you're playing football outside of the Big East, SEC, Big XII, B11, Pac-10 and ACC, you have ZERO chance at playing for a national title. So you have to settle for your crappy little Mobile, Alabama bowl against some MAC team, that nobody at all cares about.

Really? You must have a great baseball program then, because Bradley has made the College World Series in Omaha twice.
Wait, check that. You've never made it.

College World Series appearances in baseball for Bradley: 2.
College World Series appearances in baseball for Southern Miss: ZERO.
NCAA Final Fours in basketball for Bradley: 2.
NCAA Final Fours in basketball for Southern Miss: ZERO.
Last NCAA Sweet 16 in basketball for Bradley: 2006.
Last NCAA Sweet 16 in basketball for Southern Miss: NEVER.
Oh, and the education thing.

We won by 13 points at your place. We made the Sweet 16 last year. We've beaten DePaul, Rutgers and Iowa State so far this year. And you expect to bring your podunk team into Peoria and snap our 24-game noncon home winning streak?
Honestly, are you proud of your ignorance? It's almost as if you wear it as some badge of honor.
Southern Miss basketball is a joke. Sorry. You kinda solidified that by hiring Larry "Natty Lite" Eustachy.....
BRADLEY BASKETBALL
-2 NCAA Title Games
-3 NCAA Elite Eights
-4 NCAA Sweet 16s
-4 NIT Championships

We'll see who is disappointed after tonight.
You just don't get it, do you? Basketball is a minor sport that takes a backseat to football...especially in the South. Football is the only sport that we consider to be a major sport...then baseball....then basketball last. You talking basketball smack to us is like a junior college kid talking badmitton smack to you.
We are the #1 football program in our state. The second best isn't even close to us.

I guess you missed it the first time I posted it. I don't live in MS. You see, Southern Miss is a big-time, big-name institution with one of the top 5 Polymer Science research centers in the world. As such, we attract students from all across the US and around the world.
I live in a metro area that is about 30x the size of little 'ol Peoria. So I'm the one that should be cracking jokes about your little hick town. However, I'm not doing that because those types of stereotypes are outdated and juvenile. It just shows that you can't debate with facts, so you have to resort to personal insults. Childish, but typical from someone that has nothing to back up their smack with.
Southern Miss is a 4th-tier school while BU is ranked 7th in the Midwest by US News. Yeah, it's... it's not even close.
The tier ranking system is a joke. We are 3x the size of your school, and have one of the top 5 doctorate programs in the WORLD. You're right, Bradley doesn't even come close to that. You can only offer 14 graduate degrees, while we literally have HUNDREDS to choose from. Southern Miss is a world-class Carnegie 1 Research Extensive university. Again, Bradley doesn't even come close. You are nothing but a small-time commuter school. If Bradley was in MS, you would be labeled as Junior College.
That's not too difficult, considering we dropped football. You see, it's near impossible to turn a football profit unless you're in one of the 6 autobid BCS conferences (which neither of us are). Our football program is regularly regarded as on of the top in the nation outside of the BCS. The profits we rake in from football would beg to differ with your envy filled assessment. And the national exposure that our university gets from playing the majority of it's games on national television is priceless. I guess it's easy to call a ball crappy when you're not playing in one.
Really? You must have a great baseball program then, because Bradley has made the College World Series in Omaha twice.
Wait, check that. You've never made it.
Wow, you played in it over 50 years ago. Good job. How about today? We play in or host a regional pretty much every year. We're also in or around the Top 25, and we are in the Top 20 in attendance. Yeah, we are vastly superior to your tiny little school full of wannabes.
Will you be laughing after your inferior school gets destroyed tonight?
