    Can this be a ploy to get his pay boosted at WIU. He signed an 8 year deal for peanuts compared to other head coaches with his experience. I hope Wiu ponies up and keeps MO. He's worth it IMO.

      I agree but it is hard to win at WIU - you ever been there - it would be difficult to recruit kids to Western
      It is an uncommon move for a head coach to "step down" and be an assistant but I can think of several such cases - most recent being Jank over at ISU, but also McKenna, Painter, Fife...

              a report unconfirmed says WIU is making an effort with an extension & salary increase offer to keep Molinari.......

              The guy who left the Nebraska staff took a Summit League head coaching spot paying about $200K ...
              If WIU can come up with that perhaps Mo might be convinced....
