Tonight is the State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships at the Moody Coliseum on the campus of SMU in Dallas. It will be televised on ESPN at 8:00 PM tonight.

@WLemon25 is the shortest kid in the Dunk contest and has some serious bounce!

ESPN has covered the 3-point contest from 8 PM to the present (9:10 PM), so the Slam Dunk contest with Walt Lemon will be coming on very shortly.

I have to think Walt is the real longshot in the contest. He does not get very far above the rim, which gives him a small margin of error on dunks. Plus, with multiple rounds, fatigue will affect Walt much more than the bigger guys.

Walt's first dunk was a perfect score of 40.0 (10's from all 4 judges). Two other competitors, Marcus Lewis of Eastern Kentucky, and Adeian Payne of Michigan State also scored perfect 40.0's. So after the first round, Walt is tied with Lewis and Payne for lead the Slam Dunk contest.

Walt muffs his second dunk attempt and settles for a generic dunk before the clock ran out. He gets a low score of 32, while the other 3 semifinalists all get perfect scores of 40.0 again. That will effectively take Walt out of any chance to win.

His big mistake was not incorporating Kaboom! for round 2 as well. That dude has some serious intimidation coming from his tiny wings

I had not watched a slam dunk contest in some time and had forgotten how easily these are "judged". I don't think Walt deserved to be a finalist but through the second round he wasn't far behind those who beat him out. He acquited himself quite well.

Good job Walt! He represented BU quite well..I am sure it was not Walts idea to bring Kaboom to the competition! That was a complete joke! My 13 year old son said Dad why is Kaboom there? That is terrible! It is just another example of the administration controlling every aspect of the athletic department. The powers that be obviously are feeling the pressure to do something positive with BU.
