I agree, it is comical, lots and lots of stuff we see on message boards is comical.

I don't think any of the coaching staff should be fired but it is a FACT in college sports that people DO get fired all the time - and there's plenty of talk of people being fired all the time if the job isn't getting done or if a school has multiple losing seasons in just about every single sport year after year after year under the same Direction.
So a discussion about people being fired isn't so rare on message boards.

In fact, some may have forgotten that there were almost daily threads about people being fired even when Bradley had 20-win seasons - you don't happen to recall the vocal drumbeat for FIRINGS by many here and even by Kirk Wessler - using the phrase renegade program - back in 2007-08 do you, right in the midst of the Braves making a run at their THIRD CONSECUTIVE 20+ WIN SEASON?

It has been said and probably true that Ford's future may be based on the showing of this class in the next two years. I might have some disagreement with recruiting but it is his prerogative to sign those whom he wants and wants to come to Bradley.

I always think all the great players should come to Bradley.

it did back in the Molinari era, and started early in the JL era with Kirk Wessler admitting he continued a drumbeat to get JL out of here, pretty much carrying right thru his nine years (I mentioned the "RENEGADE PROGRAM" talk that came from Kirk Wessler that also talked about firing JL in the midst of some pretty good seasons)

So if talk of firings happens all the time it's hardly a surprise that it might come up again when Bradley is having multiple terribly disappointing seasons, seeing an unprecedented and enormous attendance decline, and seeing a revolving door of players coming and going in greater numbers than we have ever seen before.

Lefty, I have to agree with you ,this has become very comical. It doesn't matter what the topic is.it always seems to rain on DR or KW. If we were talking about the cast of the BIG Bang Theory,I'd venture to say somehow DR or KW's short comings would be addressed. Sure gets tiring to read.

Nobody requires anyone else to read!

But thousands of people do visit daily, and we appreciate it. Traffic and ad revenues are again at all time highs.

But I was just thinking today about what the expectations were 3 years ago for where we should be at this point. What were your expectations?
Most expected competing for championships by year 4, or NCAA bids, or consistent 20+ win seasons, or All MVC players to watch, or consistent Top 100 wins to celebrate.

I guarantee there is nobody here who can say their expectations going into year 4 were this low- to try to stay out of another Thursday night loss. Or that by year 4 we might be able to have a winning conference record even in a watered down MVC. Or that we would be hoping to land a couple juco shooting guards to help get Bradley's 3-point % above the bottom end of the league.

I'll weigh in on this again. I said someone should be fired. Of course no one shold be fired for just one recruit. That would be a knee jerk reaction. But when a long list of recruiting misses develops how can you not at least think about it?

I understand what you are saying??¦and you need to get good recruits to win??¦.but I honestly don't care who we miss on or get??¦??¦as long as we win??¦??¦.??¦??¦??¦??¦..

Just hope no recruits read this forum.. If I was a recruiter up against BU, I'd just suggest the recruit follow this Forum and then ask him if he really wants to get in the middle of this gang of I-diots (me included)!

Or, here is a novel idea...maybe let's just try winning.
Maybe let's just keep any one of the promises the AD made and compete for championships instead of being blown out repeatedly by record margins or losing at home to teams with unprecedented 320+ RPIs. Maybe let's try to achieve the minimum expectations any fan had when the administration decided the program needed a complete overhaul, and yet instituted a massive ticket price increase.

What were your expectations for year 3? Year 4?
Why have we lost over 3,000 season ticket holders, and attendance is down thousands per game.
I think it's a testament to the loyalty of Bradley fans that they haven't all left. There are still a lot of loyal fans here who continue to support this program with their attendance and dollars.

why - what would they see....an impassioned fan base that wants to win but supports their guys strongly even if they don't?
Plenty of recruits and their families do read and even occasionally sign up and post here -
-- show me where that ever happens elsewhere?
And when they do post here I have often gotten private messages from them expressing thanks for the support, the coverage of their high school games,
and their desire to be part of Bradley and the excellent fan base.

you must not ever look at other message boards and other teams' message boards.....there's nothing here that isn't everywhere else, except this board has none of the hate, the bitter attacks, the foul language, etc...
You don't have to go very far to find message boards that display the worst character traits one will ever see, viciousness that no recruit would want any part of...
but you won't see that stuff here.
