Here are just a couple tweets from Friday night mentioning before the picture appeared in the paper..but you can do your own search and see plenty..
BTW - the original tweet from the PJS showing the picture has been deleted - is the PJ Star bowing to pressure or worried about a lawsuit?
either way I think life is all about forgiveness and moving on...
Even if the kid did something offensive and unsportsmanlike - the IHSA ruled (the head of IHSA, Marty Hickman, wanted a suspension from the 3rd place game,
but the board that officially hands down the discipline relented and let the kid play - but quite possibly as that article says, it was because Stevenson was planning to boycott
and no-show for the game - which would have beena disaster for IHSA and horrible publicity.
(The article which may not be accessible without a subscription says the Stevenson team was NOT even dressed 5 minutes before the game and was prepared to boycot not just threaten it, when the ruling to allow Brunson to play came)
... and I think we ought to forget and move on - time will tell if he's a bad egg or a good kid.
Please look at the actual video of this incident here-
I don't see that he did anything wrong. It is just unfortunate that the picture was shot at just the right instant to make it appear he was flipping the bird.

Originally posted by Da Coach View PostThe Stevenson game, which Brunson played in, was the early game last Friday (6:30 PM), so it was over by around 8:00 PM. Yet every one of those tweets you posted are timed much later, even hours after that. In fact, there was never any mention of this so-called incident by people who were at the game, because nobody saw it happen. Don't you think twitter should have blown up at around 8:00 PM when this supposedly happened? But it did not. The twitter explosion happened 1 1/2 to 2+ hours later after the still picture appeared on Twitter.

The IHSA backed off their suspension once they saw the actual video, instead of reacting to just the photo.
And now virtually every media person who is familiar with this story agrees- let it die-

I have not seen even one person on this board nor heard a single fan say they wouldn't want Josh Cunningham...
surely if he reads the board he knows BU fans would instantly make him a lifetime favorite....
Hope he doesn't aim too high like some kids do and sit the bench...
but one thing might impress Cunningham way more....just start winning
and we could use less negative press...
.. only one person in 100, maybe one in 1000 in Central IL ever reads this message board but likely 1/4 to 1/2 half read the newspaper
the media guys should not be beating the drum to run coaches out...just stick to stirring the pot

Josh Cunningham's high school and AAU coach Nick Irvin says Josh will make his decision "sometime next week".
He has gotten offers from numerous schools including: South carolina, Iowa State, Minnesota, Indiana, Virginia tech, Northwestern, St. John's, Missouri, Iowa, Northern Illinois, UMass, Nebraska, Creighton, DePaul, Oklahoma, and Bradley.
Most of those schools are still actively recruiting him, and many recruiting experts think Indiana has the slight edge.

Indiana appears to be in the best shape, but nothing is official as DePaul, Creighton, Bradley, Minnesota, Oklahoma and South Carolina are in play.
So it would seem Bradley is still in the mix.
