Sorry but this is going to be a "vent" and my first post in a long time. I have been a BU fan for 43 years (starting when I was 7 so I am not that old). I did not attend BU but grew up in Peoria. Basketball has kept me connected to the University and contributing to the school in spite of living far away from Peoria. This has gone from being disappointing to being embarrassing. The schedule is awful-outside of tourney games with ASU and UofI our highest out of Conference RPI was IPFW. Good Lord. The conference was bad and if we are not careful WSU will find another home. We lose our two best players and I have seen nothing out of our coach to give me hope. Good heavens we are in central Il and we cannot find a kid that can shoot the 3. I am generally a positive person but this is the low point in my history watching BU.
Geno needs to produce next year and to do that he needs to be a magician. I can see ways we could duplicate this year but that would be a disaster.houstonbrave

-first almost all the conferences that might be interested - or draw WSU away - would look at football first - and of course WSU hasn't fielded a FB team in almost 30 years.
...Mountain West, Big 12, CUSA, etc....
-there are some basketball only & basketball dominant leagues like A-10 and Big East but would they jump for Wichita State who has little in common with their league members - especially in location and lack of Catholic affiliation.
No matter what league they might go to, even if they are good and go to the Final Four all the time - they'd still have to share their revenue - so they might as well stay with the MVC. Lastly - the frenzy of conference realignment has cooled down tremendously - so right now they'd be picking from slim offerings - might be good to stay put and see how things develop down the road.
