For some reason, I want to say Stephen Jackson played in junior college and then went to the pros, but I could be wrong about that. He's the only name jumping to my mind.

Edit: Never mind, I just looked it up and while he attended a junior college, he never played basketball for them.

my point exactly......so it hasn't happened very often - and you have to go back 10-15 years to even find examples.....
so maybe a couple times in the past two decades?
And the only examples were kids who were known tremendous talents in high school who did not have the academics to go D-I...but that's hardly what we have here with the Mooseheart kids - who aren't even acknowledged in the major recruiting databases. we saw how impressive SZ's numbers were against 1A-caliber competition then what happened after he got to DI.

But Chris Anderson didn't go straight from juco to the NBA - he spent several years with several professional teams in the D-League & overseas

Stephen Jackson didn't go straight from juco to the NBA - he played several years with several professional teams in the CBA & overseas

Donta Smith was a 5-star blue chipper who couldn't go DI because of grades, then would have gone from juco to Louisville but his academics were terrible so he had no other choice and was selected by Atlanta in the draft but he didn't last very long...

Qyntel Woods likewise was a blue chipper out of high school but his grades forced him to go juco then he went in the draft but did not last long in the NBA.
