Wallace State pulled the game out in OT...
so far the better seed has won all the games - and six teams are so far eliminated - six more will go down today - so by Wednesday morning only 12 teams will be left to battle for the NJCAA title

By the time Hill plays at 8PM Wednesday, another 3 teams will get knocked out earlier Wednesday - so before playing a game, Hill will be among the final nine teams remaining and if they win they are in the Elite Eight.
Winning Thursday puts them in the Final Four, then semi-finals Friday & Finals Saturday.

Couple of the UNSIGNED players in an earlier games wowed the coaches and recruiters in attendance...

A 6-4 SG Aaron Wheeler was solid for Walters State - averages 18 ppg - prob. raised his stock a bit

Combo guard Giovanni McLean of Westchester went for 34 pts - his season averages are impressive 17 ppg, 5 rebs, 8 asst/gm - 44% from 3-pt & he makes 2-3 per game

Kevin Punter is a 6'4" scoring machine who averaged over 20 ppg and almost 5 rpg. He sounds similar to a Jarmar Gulley, but may be a better outside shooter. He is close to 40% on threes. We could use a kid like him. Wichita State is after him strongly, and he already visited Missouri State. He just got an offer from Missouri and plans a visit after his season is finished, according to this recent article on JucoJunction.com-

Highland CC rallying - they trail 59-58 with 8 min to go
Grant Prusator is en fuego - now 7-10 from the arc and has 27 pts!!

I'm watching Prusator - just a freshman - and he looks a lot like Jeremy Crouch, although only 6-1 or 6-2 with a solid body...knows how to use screens, gets open, and has a quick release!!
On the season he averages 12.4 ppg, 3 rpg, and hits 42% from the arc - he finished his high school career #18 all time in the IHSA record book with nearly 300 career 3-pointers...
Matt Roth, as you recall, is #1 with 464, Lincoln's Jordan Nelson is 7th with 346
..hope we're taking a look at the kid...

Highland's Marvin Jones has 8 pts/12 reb - Prusator hits again from the arc (8-12) and 32 pts!!!

edit - just a little over 3 min to go - Highland trails 73-70

edit again - Highland trails 78-77 w/ 2 min - Prusator hits again from the arc (8-12) and has 32 pts!!

tough break - Highland with a costly turnover in the final seconds and they lose 81-79 as a buzzer-beater 3-pt attempt bonces off
Grant Prusator boosted his stock with 32 pts - no turnovers

Hill College & Tramique Sutherland will face Jones Co. Wednesday at 8PM

Next up is #1 ranked & #1 seeded Indian Hills (IA) vs. #16 seed New Mexico JC
Indian Hills CC is an amazingly high powered offense that averages a Grinnell-like 112 ppg for the season..
that's about 10 pts more per game than the next highest scoring team in the nation...

their top scorers are Roosevelt Scott 17ppg, SG & backup PG Roderick Bobbitt 16ppg, PG Lester Medford 15ppg, SG Marcus Posley 14ppg, F Quevyn Winter 12ppg, F Jordan Washington 10ppg, plus eight different players shoot the 3-pointer well and average from 35% to 42%

Interesting result in the Indian Hills/New Mexico JC game...

very low scoring game thus far - both teams shooting just 27% (4-15 & 6-22) and Indian Hills trails 24-22 with only 4 min to halftime
Looks like IHCC is not going to hit 100 this game.
