OK, now that the awards have all been handed out except Coach of the Year, and there is no doubt who will win that one, here is what should be painfully obvious to any Bradley fans.
Of all these awards-
Player of the Year- 1 player
Def. Player of the Year- 1 player
Freshman of the Year- 1 player
Newcomer of the Year- 1 player
Sixth Man of the Year- 1 player
1st team All MVC- 6 players
2nd team All MVC- 5 players
Honorable Mention- 5 players
All Newcomer team- 5 players
All Freshman team- 5 players
All Defensive team- 5 players
All Bench team- 5 players
Most Improved team- 7 players
Coach of the Year- 1 coach
That is a total of 48 player awards, and 1 coach award.
And a total of 2 of those awards (4%) went to any Bradley player- and in both cases (2nd team All MVC and All Def. Team) it was the same player- Walt Lemon, who was not even recruited by the current staff, and will be gone next season. No wonder many fans believe the future is bleak.
Anthony Beane, Southern Illinois So. G 6-2 Normal (Ill.) High..
Anthony Beane has a younger brother (Class of 2018 ), an 8th grader who is one of the highest rated players in the nation in his class..
he just led his 8th grade team (Giant City) to their state championship and scored 35 pts
