BU women lose

More futility for the Bradley athletic department. Despite promises of competitive teams and championships, we see more signs of failure.
The Bradley women lost yesterday 73-60 to Indiana State to fall to 7-20 overall, and 4-12 in the MVC with 2 games remaining, plus the MVC Tournament.
More concerning is the fact that 4 of the team's top 5 players are seniors, and will not return next year, and 2 other players were dismissed from the team.



When was the last time both men's and women's basketball had 20 losses?

Based on current statistics, with at least 3 more games left, the women's team stands to lose 57% of their minutes played, over 60% of their scoring, and over 66% of their player rebounds after this season. That will be a lot to replace. By comparison, the men's team loses a little less than half their scoring and 40% of their rebounding, and even that is a substantial amount to replace for a team struggling to get out of the bottom four.

The Bradley women also played last night at home against Evansville.

The Bradley women played this afternoon in the play-in round at the MVC tournament. They played Loyola and lost 75-69. Their season ends at 8-22.

Obviously you didn't watch many games this year. The best 2 players on the team are returning. Michelle Young and Leti Lerma. These are the only 2 to get post season recognition. Also, if you had any insight on the team you would know that the 2 transfers Whitney Tinjum and Charnelle Reed were dominating practice. But that would mean you would have to take an interest in the team and not just report on stats...oops my bad for stating some truth up in here.

depends on who you call "best"..
but of the top FIVE scorers on the team - Young, Budd, O'Leary, Frings, Spinas-Valainis - only one is returning....so I expect BU will be picked 5-8th next year
...so it will be a great chance to show off recruiting & coaching skills if we can finish at the top...

I believe the program is bringing in great freshman and has a solid base to build from. Let us all be real about the women's program. They have finished with a winning conference record only 4 times in the last 25 years. That is a culture of losing. I think this staff is doing what they have to do to try and produce a better result. Do I expect them to challenge for the top of the MVC...NO! Do I expect them to be middle of the back and have a winning conference record for only the 5th time is 25 years...YES!

Good. Might get more fans interested in both teams. You don't really need to be close to the program, just do like many do, go to the games and then give your opinion on this board. Looking forward to it next season.

Agreed! It generates more familiarity and intererest. Good advertising. The more you hear about them the more people will want to go see for themselves
