Wichita is who we thought they were, a defensive minded team who can also knock down shots. I thought we played as hard as we could for the whole game. We outrebounded them, not many teams have done that, while we took care of the ball for the most part. They are so unselfish on offense. It just seems like the core 4 take turns scoring. First it was Cotton, then Baker, then Early and then Van Fleet. While we struggled getting into any kind of offense Wichita would find the open man near the end of the shot clock. And they would make it, unlike us who couldn't even hit 30% for the game. Can someone beat them? Sure. Good luck trying.

Man, I've never seen an opponent as tough as the one we faced tonight. The only time I saw the Shockers this year was vs. BYU and they looked good, but not great. Tonight they did EVERYTHING right. We didn't play bad, but that team might be better than the worst nba team.
Was just counting on/hoping for an off night for the Shox tonight, but didn't happen.

I had a hard time understanding something the TV announcers kept saying over and over. It was something about Bradley's team looking good for the future (coming years).

We are losing our two best scorers. It does look like we have a good point guard coming in next year, but he has yet to play a D1 game. Thomas will be a freshman coming off a major injury and not having played that much this year. Barnes looked good on offense the 2nd half. Grier seems to have a major injury problem requiring surgery. Hopefully, he can find his shooting touch next year. Bradley will need it. Taylor needs to put on weight and muscle. He also needs to learn how not to foul. The other players have not shown a lot this year.

Some player(s), besides the seniors, may be leaving the program this year. It seems to happen every year. Ford will need a big infusion of talent that can make an impact next year. It is hard for a mid-major to recruit several good players in the spring.

I'm remain a Bradley fan, for better or worse, and wish Ford great success on the recruiting trail this spring and summer. Did anyone notice if Bradley had recruits at this game? I believe that Thomas was supposed to be here and maybe he brought some friends.

I'll Still Fight Your Feelings Through The End Of Four

            With Apologies To REO Speedwagon

I'll Still Fight Your Feelings Through The End Of Four

I have to fight all your feelings about GF, much longer.
And I'm still afraid BU may try to let him go.
What started out as your replacement general angst,
            Has grown very much stronger.
I know I have the strength to fight to not let him go.

I tell myself that I can't hold out forever.
I said there is no reason for your fears.
Cause I feel more secure when giving GF more time together.
He can still move BU in the right direction,
You can't, in only 3 years, make everything so clear.

            And even as I ponder,
I'm keeping all your GF pessimism in sight.
You've all blown out the candles in BU's window,
On a cold, dark winter's night.
And I'm getting closer to leaving bf.com than I ever thought I might.

But I'll continue to fight your feelings some more.
I haven't forgotten what I started fighting for (better than #4)
It's time to support GF and BU one more year through four,
And throw away your snide comments till the end of four

But I'll continue to fight your feelings some more
I haven't forgotten what I started fighting for (better than #4).
And if I have to post and post some more,
Risk censure or denied access by mods and shown the door,
Baby, I'll continue fighting all your feelings some more.

My life has been such a whirlwind since BU hired you.
I've been running round in circles in my mind.
And it always seems that I'm the only one rooting for you, GF,
Cause I still think you can take BU to the places,
That I never thought BU would find (during 2010-11).

And even as BU's players skills continue to wander,
            I'm keeping GF in sight.
He's still my candle in the wind,
On a cold, dark winter's night.
And I bet he'll get BU closer to MVC top 3 than you ever thought he might.

And I keep fighting all your feelings some more.
I haven't forgotten what I started fighting for (better than 4).

Maybe it had a little to do with Bradley.
I did some checking, and the 20 point margin is the largest margin of victory for WSU in any MVC game they have played on the road this season. The 27% we shot is the worst shooting percentage any team has had. And the 49 points Bradley scored is the second lowest total scored on Wichita State all year (ISU scored 47 in Wichita on Jan. 8 ).

Bradley never made any kind of a run. Only twice (once each half) did Bradley even score consecutive baskets. Yet, it seemed Bradley never did anything to try to rally, or get some momentum going. On the other end, BU just dropped back into their defensive stances every possession, allowing WSU to do whatever they wanted on offense. BU got no lift from anyone off the bench, and shot and played about as bad as they have all season.
To me, Bradley looked a lot like Loyola did here Saturday. They looked like they knew they had no chance, and didn't really want to be there.

The PJS says Bradley played tough defense, but we allowed Wichita State to shoot 49% (50% in the 2nd half), and 48% on threes on the road, and score pretty much at will. Most of their shots were wide open. That's "tough defense"?

I thought we played decent defensively compared to the talent both teams have??¦.they are just a more talented, longer, stronger team than we are??¦

Many of the shots were late in the clock and they hit the open guy pretty much every time??¦.very few forced shots.
We need better shooters for sure??¦but we also need to take better shots

I was really happy with 6 turnovers. They rebounded really well, but once again, Barnes did not shoot in the first half and Pickett rebounded really well but he did not make enough shots. We are just not a good shooting team. Grier is not shooting well and Taylor is a great player but needs to learn how to play without so much contact.

That is DR doing what he does best, spinning the story to make it look better than it actually is.

Here is a picture that will brighten your day- perhaps the only surviving photo of the Bradley mascot that was retired in 1987, named Brad E. Lee. Virtually all images and likenesses of this short-lived mascot have apparently been expunged from history. If anyone else has a picture of any of the old Bradley mascots, please post them...

+1. Not talking about Brad E. Lee. Us old timers remember the real "Brave."

or 1 on 2 or 1 on 3... you can try blaming the players for this if you want - but most informed fans know better -
this is just terrible game plan and execution and every time BU is on TV the announcers see it and say the same thing -
Even Dave Snell & Chad Kleine have repeatedly pointed out how selfish our guys are on offense, how we force our offense into double & triple teams, and how we go 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 all the time and never pass the ball or get assists...
... it is not a mirage nor is it just a temporary thing....

There has been a weird and inexplicable tendency for some to make that statement since the day JL was fired....
Uninformed and biased people, largely led by the cheerleading media keep saying...
"we're headed in the right direction..."
                            "the future is bright"
                            "we have much more talent.."
                            "we are light years better..."
                            "we're deeper, better, more talented..."
"the program is in good hands..." (LOL)
"can't wait for (all the talent we will have) next year"
                            "roster full of difference-makers"
                            etc...

I dunno - the people saying these things are really either blind or lying - because we are worse this year than last and next year looks pretty shaky as well - even tho we all expect another complete makeover with several open scholarships to go bargain-hunting again this spring & fill.

our guys played hard and hung with them for quite a while, never getting a run going, but mostly that had to do with low shooting percentages...
...but yet another home blowout of 20 points or more -
we've had more of these in the past 3 seasons than in the prior 20 seasons combined!!!!!!
How does anyone NOT notice that this is unprecedented and really bad - it's what hurts attendance the most and it is proof of BAD play not improved play as the media wants you to keep believing.

..as for tough defense - they see what they want to see - per the above paragraph

A 20pt win is exactly what I expected. Even if though they are the #2 team in the country, I??™m not happy with that performance at HOME! I hope we can play as a team, shoot the ball better, get tougher and play better defense next year. Go BU!

I have to admit it was nice to see such a great crowd and student turnout. Except for the loss, it sort of reminded me of the old days.
