Bradley loses another big fan and donor

Longtime Bradley fan, and successful local businessman Nick Adkins passed away yesterday at the age of 79.

Nick and his wife Sandra were huge fans, traveled to some of the road games, and were always present at the basketball home games, as well as at many other sports and other Bradley activities. He was active in the Bradley Chiefs/Braves Club and served as an officer in the past. He was a member of the Braves Scholarship Society and donated large amounts of money to Bradley Athletics. He was a great guy and will be missed.

another lifelong Bradley grad and basketball fan, past officer of the Bradley Alumni Assoc., and a season ticket holder for several decades just passed away...
Due to age, illness, and the passing of his wife several years ago - he has not been at many games the past few years...

Claude U. Stone, Jr. - LINK - who grew up right here, played basketball at Stanford University in the late '40's & 1950's as a walk-on grad student, and then served as an Illinois State senator..
Claude also had a fairly well known father...

Bradley has lost another avid fan and generous donor. John Gardner, Sr. passed away Thursday. John and his brother Steve and their families operated Oberlander Electric, and were long time members of the Chief's Club, and Braves Club, and were among the earliest members of the Braves Scholarship Society. John rarely missed a Bradley home game, and traveled to many of the road games, including nearly every tournament Bradley has played in.

I remember him because he always wore the red/white headdress.. What an avid fan. Bradley needs more people like him. He will be missed

Yes, many remember him wearing that Trojan-type red headdress. I tried to find a picture showing him wearing it in Auburn Hills or elsewhere, but couldn't find it.
