Wow, and Boston College was on the road also. Really just killed my confidence in picking Syracuse for going deep in the Tourney. Duke is really coming on strong heading down the stretch though.

Wichita never trailed and are now 28-0 with an easy 88-74 win in Chicago. They led by 7 at the half and the Shockers put it on cruise control and Loyola never really challenged them. Fred Van Fleet, from Rockford, had his best game of the year as he had 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Van Fleet was 6-6 from the field and 10-10 from the FT line. The Shockers had 3 other guys in double figures while Loyola had 4, led by Milton Doyle with 18 and Peoria's Jeff White with 14. Wichita outrebounded Loyola 41-24 and the Shockers were 31-34 from the FT line. They are 51-55 in the last 2 games.

Jake Odum had another outstanding game as he had 22 points, the only Sycamore in double figures, 7 rebounds and 5 assists as Indiana State held off Evansville 59-54. Indiana State started the game leading 10-0. Evansville kept chipping away until they got their first lead at 9:30 left in the game. ISU got back the lead and kept it the rest of the game. D.J. Balentine, who led the Aces with 19 points and 8 assists, had two attempts in the last 13 seconds at 3 pointers to tie the game but missed and Odum, who was 10-13 from the FT line made 2 of them to close it out.
